Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is Nintendo ending the 3DS slowly?

you must be mad...

of course not. just LOOK at the amount of games for 2014/15!!!

In 4 years I think they will.

The Wii U version of Smash is getting more of the hype, but the 3DS is huge too. Smash, Bravely Default, Yoshi, Kirby, Tomodatchi Life, Mario Golf. Not the best lineup, but not terrible.

That being said, I don't see the 3DS living too much longer. It's had 3 good years. The DS lasted about 6.5, years, but the 3DS is not nearly as successful. Nintendo needs to give a few more big titles to satiate 3DS owners, announce a new console at E3 15, release it holiday 15, and hope that they can recapture the mass market.

Well yea, it's almost time for it to be replaced.

Smash Bros, Kirby, Persona Q, Tomogachi Life, Pokemon, Conception 2, Professor Layton X Phoenix Wright and many more... So I don't get what you are talking about... It will die eventually, just not anytime soon

They announced a new 2015 I.P so I doubt it, it has another year or two left in it.

Nintendo developers work in cycles.

First a couple of years with large handheld efforts, then some for the home console, then some for the next handhelt, then some for the next home console, and it goes on like that.

I LOVE ICELAND!

It's got at least a couple years left, especially if they are doing the handheld/console with the same operating system. I think they are trying to save the Wii U right now or at least salvage the situation. And with the 3DS, Nintendo doesn't have to do as much because of big third party hits like Monster Hunter 4.

I disagree, the 3DS has still a bright future ahead. It may not sell as well as the DS, but it can have a longer lifespam than the DS. At least let Nintendo release the 2D Metroid and another 2D Zelda.

You know it deserves the GOTY.

I certainly wouldn't say "slowly", more like it was a sudden brick wall.

But yes, it's really strange how they seem to already be tapering off support. At this rate it might not even hit PSP numbers, and I remember the days when I thought it was going to hit around 130 million.
