It was less praise because the story felt tact on and forced.

It wasn't as forced as puting "Bioshock" in "Bioshock: Infinite". And Infinite traded even more dull gameplay for the sake of story, yet this one also got praised. Go figure.

Well if it makes you happy i liked both Bioshock 1 and 2 more then Infinite. I thought Metro Last Light should of gotten the praise and sales that infinite got last year. Also there was a lot of things i found wrong in infinite story especially the ending. I mean people got sad when Booker died. Why? just imagine another parallel universe where he didn't open that door.

The atmosphere, the story, the customisation, everything except the actual shooting was amazing. Great game.

Ive tried to get into the game on 3-4 occasions, it bores me to tears before I am done with the first few boards. I dont like single player FPSes much though the gameplay hasent really moved forward since Half Life 2 for me.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

I believe it deserves the praise. In my mind it's the single best game of the seventh generation and one of the top five first-person shooters ever made.

There are a lot of great things going on in BioShock -- art direction, graphics, sound design, music -- but to me what makes the game so special is the way it transcends the boundaries typical of shooters. It features elements of role-playing games, adventure games, and horror games, all wrapped up in a totally immersive and customizable experience.

The thing is, Metro: Last Light also have all those great things going on with it: art direction, atmosphere, graphics, sound design; and while it is a bit more streamlined than Bioshock on the role-playing department, it mashes horror and adventure in a very unique and meaningful way.

It also presents a very subtle but very well-done morality system, which is certainly more inmmersive than PRESS A to Save, PRESS X to Harvest.

I'm not hating on Bioshock with this, neither I want to make it look like Metro:Last Light out of my opinion is far superior. My main complain is that critics gave a free pass on Bioshock's 1 flaws, whereas everyone punished Last Light for its flaws.

Because Bioshock was one of the first to do it and metro last light is 6 years later than bioshock. I f you where to compare it to metro 2033 wich still came 3 years after bioshock it would still be unfair. If a game that came 6 years later canot improve on the standart made so far back(I do belive bioshock set the standart) then it should be punished, it does not deserve a free pass cuz its better maybe just cuz is newer(maybe, never played it).

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Well, if Bioshock 1 nailed greatness as critics say, playing it safe would only mean you have another hit in greatness. Can't improve from perfection right?

The story was certainly more interesting, and I don't agree about difficulty. All Bioshocks are easy games.

If gameplay was kinda repetitive...that means on Bioshock 1, gameplay was kinda repetitive too.

1. If the original BioShock was a 4.5 on the difficulty scale, then the sequel was easily a 2 on the same scale.

2. BioShock 2's story was less interesting from the get-go because it takes place in Rapture just like in the first game. I am not saying BS2's story was bad or anything, but it simply didn't feel like anything special to me..

3. Not really.. BioShock 2 is more repetitive and tedious thanks to those Little Sisters.. They don't add ANYTHING good to the game.

4. The combat was slightly better in BioShokc 2 though......

5. Playing as the Big Daddy kinda took away from the tension, because you are playing as a damn beast!

I got it and Metroid Prime 3 on the same day. I thought it was pretty unique and engrossing, at the time. I'm not a big fan of first person games but it definitely felt like something new and it reaked of quality. I avoided spoilers since 2007 because I still want to finish it. Igot lost near the end and I'll probably have to replay the entire game.

I only played infinite and thought it was only okay :x, but then again I think corridor games are boring.

You should try Bioshock 1 then since it has really great level design and rewards exploration.

Signature goes here!

For me it was definitely the theme. You actually felt like you were in a city under water that was falling apart, physically and demographically. Also, bee powers.

This.

Having played both, Last Light is, far and away, the better experince.

"You should be banned. Youre clearly flaming the president and even his brother who you know nothing about. Dont be such a partisan hack"

The game went on too long. A good ending mid way through the game and then you had to play the game and collect stuff to face a weak lame boss at the end of the game.
