Forums - Gaming Discussion - Microsoft seems to be forcing developers to downgrade the ps4 visuals to match xbox one games through parity clause.

Looking at the recent sales figures, they shouldnt be giving demands to any developer...

COD: Ghosts has sold a little more on X1 compared to PS4 in NA.. Which considering the PS4 has about 500k more consoles in North America is interesting. Proving that Xbox is likely still the "home" of COD.

Also COD: Ghosts X1/X360 sales are more then PS3/PS4 sales WORLDWIDE. Not by much.. but still more..

interesting how you had to add the 'in NA' part

so glad that the entire world >> NA

So this conversation again? How many times does it have to be said that parity clause has absolutely nothing to do with performance. It applies to content. Doesn't even apply to AAA games this gen.

This. Plus Microsoft is in no position to demand performance parity, especially when it's illegal & that PS4 has the bigger install base.

Interesting? Cause the bottom part says WORLDWIDE. Did u miss that??

And also..  for there being 3.5 million more PS4's WORLWIDE then X1s COD:Ghosts is only ahead by like 500k worldwide..   So really the X1 has a better % of COD sales then the PS4 does..

Give us *one* example. Just one. And don't post stuff like "common knowledge" - we are many people here with "common knowledge" and don't see what you are going to use for your "common knowledge" and "logic". You are just evading the discussion with this nonsense.

If you read the thread then you would see many examples where given. BUt the only proof that you are willing to accept is that the devs or phil spencers comes out and says "yes its true, MS is paying us to keep parity" wich will never happen and you can live in denial saying your right.

you really think there wouldn't be a disgruntled developer somewhere that would come out and say what microsoft's policy is here?  Trust me, if Microsoft was forcing graphical parity, you would have heard about it.  That isn't a policy that would sit well with a lot of people, and would quickly become public information.  Whether through insider leaks, disgruntled developers, or annonymous tipsters, that iformation would have come out.

All the examples people have given are just conspiracy theories derived from online forum dwellers.  Nothing has been confirmed or even talked about by actual gaming press because there isn't anything to talk about.  It is just conspiracy theories...

it actually doesn't even apply to content any more.  The only parity clause still in existence is in the id@xbox program and it only applies to release parity or timing.  content parity was last gen, and I believe that was even dropped towards the end of the generation...

Just to get that straight, probably 80% of all new gen games have a higher resolution on PS4 (except maybe sports games like Fifa or games which look not the best on any platform) and many games (Batman, Watch_Dogs, AssCreed, Destiny) have timed exclusive content like a Destiny Beta or exclusive content like more costumes or whatever on PS4 but people still complain about the bad Microsoft who forces everyone to do what they want?

That Microsoft tries to get the same content for the games on their platform should be obvious and it would be stupid and also bad for Xbox owners if Microsoft wouldn't try it. I'm pretty sure owners of an Xbox are happy that Microsoft doesn't say to developers "hey, release your games with less content on Xbox as on another platform but still ask for the same price"

It's not the fault of console owners if game developers agree to do stuff like that just to grab some extra money and it is the job of console manufacturer to try to prevent that owners of their console get less for the same money. I hope Sony tries to prevent that as well and doesn't just look away when game developers release inferior versions on their platforms just because Microsoft/Nintendo pay them to do exactly that.

So the interviews with the devs saying themselfs that they are aiming for parity(not the first time, destiny said it to, not sure who else) is all in our heads. It might be the choice of the devs to do that for the cash, or they could have goten paid we dont really know the reason beacuse like i said before, no one is going to go rant about it to the media because they will probably loose what ever benefict they are guetting.

What is not a theory is that when someone says that they are aiming for parity means that one version out perfoms the other and they are working hard to come to a middle ground. Even if that means that its not gimping the ps4 and just working really hard on x1, then all that effort could also go to ps4 and really put that game on another level. With the comon knowledge the the ps4 is 50% stronger then if detiny can be 1080p30hz on x1 then it can be no problem to get it to 60hz on ps4 but the interview said by the devs themself, no because we are aiming for parity.

Like I said, your type is unwilling to accept any evidence short of being a direct response from the heads that say yea we paid them. JUst to be clear again, I never said its whats hapening for certain, just that it is a posibility and you cannot dismiss everithing.

except what you are presenting isn't evidence of anything, but whatever.  Continue as you were...

Geez, i guess logic is nonexistent for majority of the people.

Sorry guys, but i don't want to write wall of text(and spend half an hour on it) and get "NO EVIDENCE!!11!1!" in return.

All the "evidence" there could ever be already in the public, not hidden from anyone, you just gotta have desire, common knowledge and logic to find an answer, and here we have a problem, because nonexistent logic comes across with desire not to find an answer, but to argue(try another fool).

Wow I'm shocked that you have such a generic non-answer to back up your completely illogical and make believe theory.

Becuase it's a generic situation, my "friend", it doesn't worth my time explaining(and i actually did) to the ones who just want to argue and "win" the argument.

If people don't understand that MS non-asking or not using some kind of leverage to ease out their gap makes them the saintest, and yet the stupidiest, bussiness company in the world, than i have nothing but envy for them,  they live an easiest simplest live.
