Will we get Majora's Mask 3D

Yes, the fanbase has been too obnoxious for Nintendo to ignore. It's going to be one of the worst-reviewed, poorest-selling games in the series and I can't wait to see the excuses people come up with.

I'd prefer they just release it on VC, and put their efforts towards a new Zelda game.

Nintendo seems to have serious trouble with this whole "VC" idea, especially as concerns the Nintendo 64.

They'll get it up there eventually. They do seem to be releasing VC games at a steadier pace now. Not that it matters to me. My near mint gold cartridge Majora's Mask with the hologram label is pirched proudly apon my game shelf. :)

8th gen predictions. (made early 2014)
PS4: 60-65m
WiiU: 30-35m
X1: 30-35m

If it only took them 6 months to turn a GameCube game into Wii u game (hd) then it should take them less time to turn a 64 game into a 3ds game. However, I think they will intentionally not release this game until 2015 regardless of when they finish it in order to increasehardware sales next year.

What gives you the impression that it only took 6 months? Anyway, if it'll really take only 6 months, then I'd be happy to see it on the 3DS. If not, they should just put it on Virtual Console. If they really wanna do it well, it should be a Wii U game with high end graphics and extra content that wasn't in the original game. Lots of substantial added content. I was even thinking of making a thread about how Miyamoto's Project Guard reminded me of a mission in Majora's Mask that actually got my heart rate way up.

If I remember correctly that was an official statement. Wind Waker HD did take only half a year to port. And even though I lack  knowledge about a game's development proccess, by simple logic I believe he is right about the fact that it would take even less time to port a N64 game to 3DS should there be a competent team behind it's porting. However, porting a game from 64 to Wii U would be a bit harder, considering the huge graphics gap. WWHD was just WW with improved mechanics, more content and more detailed graphics about already existing concepts, but Majora's Mask is different; every character model, place and item should be redrawn fro m zero with the only advantage of already knowing what it's meant to be. I'm not sure how to explain it - I don't even know if it's right, but put it this way, it's not the same turning and hexagon (N64) into an Octagon (3DS) as turning and hexagon (N64) into a perfect circle (Wii U). That's my line of reasoning (But feel free to absolutely destroy it if there's a flaw I'm not seeing).

Nah, I think they'll save it for the next Nintendo system.

There are a ton of great games coming out this Q4 2K14 for the 3DS alone, let alone the Wii U.

A few examples of 3DS games this year:

Professor Layton VS. Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney

Fantasy Life

King of Pirates

One Piece: something (LOL, I forgot, but it's on the web)

Rodea the Sky Soldier

Yo-Kai Watch (Youkai Watch in Japan)

Super Smash Bros. Four 3DS (before Wii U)

YuGiOh! 3D (about time)

TheatRhythm Final Fantasy: Curtain Call

And several other 3DS titles.

Anyways, 2015 is the most obvious year for Zelda Majora's Mask 3D, I mean they didn't say anything about out loud, so obviously with all the strong hints that it's coming 2015 with many other 3DS games like Codename S.T.E.A.M Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate & Bravely Second & Yo-Kai Watch & Denpa Men 4. & many other titles releasing in 2015 for 3DS exclusively.

Yes, but only in the end of 3ds life.

Yeah, I think its coming. The reason its taking so long is probably them figuring out how to make the game appeal to a wider audience. Its probably the most difficult Zelda game alongside Zelda 2.

For those of you thinking that porting s game and increasing the graphics takes much, seriously? They could easily get another company to upscale it, pay them some, release it althrwhilr not taking any talent from new Zelda creation.

Yes.
There's a ton of demand, so why not make it? I doubt the guys who remade OoT are doing much now.

It will likely be made by the same developer that did the OOT remake, which is not an internal studio of Nintendo.

*Edit, damn, so many people in this thread thinking Nintendo would be using an internal studio to do this remake...
