I love how all the anti-Sony posters are being "generous" suggesting PS4 can do at most 4.5-6M from July to December, I really want to know the prospects of their platforms of choice.

10M seems like too much, maybe 8M? And Sony probably can't manufacture 7M in 2 or 3 monthsrhaps. But pe they are already stockpilling for USA and UK holiday season and that is why even tough they are selling 100k weekly they still have supply constrain in some markets, I doubt their production rate drop from 200k to 100k for nothing.

Who are the anti-Sony posters??  Isn't 4.5-6 more likely than 10? Maybe they are just using facts than wishfull thinking.

Source? Where is there supply constrains that is causing them to sell half of what they should be selling??

Any claims to any of this or is this all wishfull thinking?

Won't name them... just look in the thread and you will find it... 4.5 (the same as it sold in 2 months on release) isn't likely as 10M isn't... the difference being the ones shooting for 4.5 is wishfull thinking from Anti-Sony and 10M from very pro-Sony... more likely to be around 7-8M.

We have several reports of supply constraints on Europe from Sony itself, just google it.

And do you think sony isn't making more than 100k?

I did and could find anything new. Perhaps you should link me some sources not older than 1month? Its been widely available for weeks.

There isn't demand. Sony is making more than 100k its just that no ones buying it.

You want sony to weekly post that there is still lack of supply in some countries??? We have several testemonials here about smaller countries.

And since they are selling 100k or so per week (from VGC at least) them sony is possibly staffing 150k+ per week, so it is possible to have 7M available to sell on the last trimester.

No one is buying it? So what about the competitor, right?

Which small countries?? Seems like you are just making up stuff to fit your argument.

You refuse to post any links and just keep adding opinions on a discussion where facts are needed.

No ones buying the X1 as well just like the PS4. Unless you think MS is hoarding units to sell when the holidays arrive.

Why would a company refuse to stock units so it could sell at a later time? SONY's never done this.

Man I won't do you research for you, even more because for me there is no gain, I know you won't support and would preffer to bash sony, so why would I take my time to hunt for news to satisfy you? Just being on the threads all day you would have saw all of it.

You haven't put any source to prove there is no demand based on VGC doubtfull numbers and ask for facts when you are just putting a very negative opinion, so I don't care.

Sorry for having a unbiased opinion. I don't blindly follow Corporate companies, I use my knowledge and not my favouritism to form opinions.

I prefer using facts when discussing sales.
Why would I not support facts? Show me the demand for PS4 in countries that don't have supply.

I use VGC numbers and haven't seen any Gaming news sites post about PS4 shortages.

So you are quick to doubt VGC's numbers but not quick to doubt the so called small country droughts?

Your bias is showing and is clouding your judgement.

You know that claiming to be unbiased is one of the first signals of covered bias right??? I accept that I have bias in favour of Sony and have seem you complaining about any thing related to Sony in all your last posts in several threads.

I'm not quick to doubt, I have several examples in the last weeks of VGC being way off, like in the last month they were like 50%+ than NPD for X360 and were 600% under for Vita... about the Europe markets drought I accept it as true because we have several users from those countries saying they haven't found PS4 in stock for several months (in Germany a user said that the last week or the week prior to that it was the first time they saw stock there)... but if you don't believe it I have no problem with it.

Just one search on Google without any refinement already show a hit

http://www.playstationlifestyle.net/2014/06/20/sony-claims-ps4-stock-issues-in-europe-may-have-led-to-lost-sales/ as far as I know that wasn't a month ago, but like 2 weeks.

sales numbers show there is no supply constraint, unless you think sony can't produce more than 100k a week.

There is constrains in some market, indicating that they are stockpilling for holiday in USA+UK, not that Sony is producing just 100k or that there are constrain in main markets... US+JP+UK there is enough stock and even excess, Iceland or other smaller markets (don't know all the markets that we had that).

yes it sold 3.5-4M in the first 6 months, so 4.5-6M is higly unlikely for the next 6 months.

4-5 million between now and Jan 1st 2015 max.

A supply constrained PS4 did over 4M between nov-dec. And you somehow believe that with a new white sku incoming, the whole of oct-dec fall season... the PS4 will be unable to sell more than 5M worldwide? And your prediction is even 5M for the rest of the year?

Get ready to be very disappointed.

bold: a non supply constrained ps4 did that in the last 6 months. see how the bolded has no significance to the discussion?

it's shaping up to sell a little over 1 million in the next 3 months and there's nothing exciting enough during holidays to give it a huge boost. I'd say 5-6, though.

I give it 8m tops, which would be impressive.

16m install base after nearly 14 months, or launch plus a full year, would be great imo.
