Forums - Movies & TV - Will you give into the VGChartz AD to see Dawn of the Planet of the Apes in Real D 3D & Digital 3D?

So does the AD on VGChartz.com making you want to pay to see "Dawn of the Planet of the Apes" in Real D 3D & Digital 3D?

Or will you see it in "Premium Large Format" (IMAX style)?

I prefer IMAX, so if I was going to go watch this in theaters then it would be in IMAX not 3D.

It's not in IMAX, but it is in Premium Large Format, which is basically the samething, but with guaranteed 4K Digital Projectors.

I see almost all movies in "Premium Large Format" so even if it's not IMAX, I still get the IMAX experience.

But I wish I would have saw both Amazing Spider-Man 2 & X-Men: Days of Future Past on a regualer size cinema screen instead of the IMAX experience. But everything else has been great in the IMAX experience.

I'm definitely going to see it, but most likely in 2D. I see little point in paying extra for a feature i'm not overly fond of.

On a side note, has anyone else noticed 3D becoming less prevalent? I'm sure it's different everywhere, but finding a 2D viewing used to be a real pain in the ass at my local odean and cineworld. Now both of them alternate between 2D and 3D for each showing of a film.

What ad?

definitely 2D but What Ad? Ad's tend to be different for different people as they are based on your browsing and searching tracking history.

Only in CGI movies, come week 2 & up in the same Cinemas. Excluding How to Train Your Dragon 2, which seems to be really popular in 3D screenings. But live-action movies definitely have more 3D screenings, except during the last 1 or weeks in cinema. (I go to a 15 cinema room theater most often)

I was surprise about how little people want to see CGI movies in 3D, because last year was the opposite. But CGI movies do have the worse 3D effect in both movies & on Nintendo 3DS cinematics, in my experience.

What's the difference between Real D 3D and Digital 3D? Is it noticeable? I know my local cinema has Real D.

Digital 3D might be an umbrella term for all other plastic glasses 3D.

Just 3D, refers to those cheap $5 theaters that probably use paper glasses, since they only charge $1 extra for 3D.

And then there's:

3D IMAX

3D Premium Large Format

Talk about isolating everyone in their own micro manage universe.

Anyways, it's an advertisement for the movie Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and it's at the top of each page in that ad space on vgchartz, and it boldly says; IN REAL D 3D & DIGITAL 3D.

I didn't know such micro management base on browsing history went that far on the web, I thought is was limited to some extant. Thanks for the heads up.
