Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Defends Against Claims That PS4 Lacks Exclusives This Holiday

A lot of games have been delayed to 2015. The Order 1886, The Witcher 3, Hellraid, Dying Light and a ton of other games have missed their 2014 deadlines and the all important holiday season. Sony have some decent games later this year but it can’t really be termed as AAA line up and it’s a bit odd considering the PS4 is leading the console race so far.

So does the lack of AAA games hamper the PlayStation 4′s growth? Sony’s Jim Ryan does not think so. “Not at all. We have The Last of Us: Remastered this summer, and Destiny in early September and then everything will accelerate with FIFA, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, DriveClub … and the list goes on, there is no reason to worry,” he said in an interview with GameKult.

“I forgot to mention LittleBigPlanet 3, inFamous First Light, SingStar … Moreover, much of the games from third-party publishers come with exclusive content and access, so I am not worried.”

On  the other hand Microsoft has a rather strong line up this holiday with Halo: Master Chief Collection, Forza Horizon 2 and Sunset Overdrive. Now that Microsoft has a similar offering to Sony as far as console pricing goes, it will be interesting to see how these consoles go head to head sales wise.

They really do lack exclusives though. I'm sure their sales will be great but as a gamer I want more gamez!

According to the guy, LB3, Infamous First light, and Singstar are good enough.

And DriveClub.

On topic: the list of exclusives for both consoles this fall isn't very exciting.

Well, at least LBP3 is coming out soon-ish.........

Neither console needs a particularly strong lineup this fall, 3rd party games are looking amazing.

But MS clearly has the better lineup this holiday.

It is clearly really hurting them in Japan right now

Am I missing something? Everyone is just talking about MC collection, Forza, and Sunset overdrive for Xbox. That's not really that much, how is it that much better when PS4 also has some.

Can't say I agree that MS have a much stronger lineup this holiday. I wonder if we will see similar articles early next year when PS4 has The Order and Bloodborne and X1 has nothing

Both MS and Sony are suffering from the same exact thing.

The only question is how people perceive the level of suffering.

With all the third party games coming out this holiday, I do not see any reason for the two companies to put more Exclusive games out. The field has plenty for everyone....except JRPGs. Oh well, thats why I have my vita.

Fat chance, it will all be about 3rd party games then and moving goal posts like always.
