Yes you heard me. Unity and Comet are months away from being released and yet they've started a new Assassin's Creed game.

It appears Ubisoft is well prepared to run this franchise into the dirt if needs be.

we had AC games in,..   2007, ...,  2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, and coming in 2014.

were you under the impression these games were built in less than a year?

Shocking.

But seriously though, maybe they'll add a playable female character this time.

I just started playing AC4 Wii u, and the game is fantastic. I also just bought AC3 and want more! I trust Ubisoft because they consistently make quality games. If they confirm Comet on Wii U, I'll be a happy man..

Milked franchises become a borefest overtime.Nothing will be distinguishable between the new entries.

Oh no~... Because apparently as long as the game is "good" theres nothing wrong with yearly releases.

So... even the game is good, it loses all credibility just because it's yearly...? I didn't get it.

Why is this surprising? They are gonna milk the franchise as much as they can.

The more the better imo. The more AC games they have in development, the faster they can make their way through the list of historical time periods that remain. There are alot of fan favorite time periods left to do still, Feudal/Edo period Japan, Victorian London, Wild West, WW1, WW2, Ancient Egypt, Russian Revolution, British controlled India, South America during the time of the Conquistadors, Medieval China, Medieval Europe, and several more that have decent-large fan followings.

As long as they maintain the current level of quality by keeping the dev cycles long, I'm happy. The last couple of AC titles have all had 3 or more years of development, and they've all been good imo. The only AC game I didn't like was Revelations, and if I'm not mistaken it was the last AC game with only 2 years of development before they bumped it up to 3 or more.

No.

The more, the worse. Not the better. Why? Human nature is why. Just because you like sweet peas doesn't mean you want to eat sweet peas every day. Afterawhile you will grow tired of eating the same thing all the time. Ubisoft making a new AC game every year can kill the series, because it can (and will) grow stale.

I really enjoyed AC3, but I realized I no longer was willing to pay full price for them anymore. Too many in such a short time span, so franchise is now forever doomed to $20.

I came in looking for Animal Crossing and I get this?! WTF! Stupid ambiguous acronyms.

In regards to the OP...how is this news? It's what Ubi does.

Is comet even happening? Surely we would of heard something by now

I understand what you are saying but as long as theres a major history event or era they haven't done, this series will carry on. Assassin's Creed is unlike other annual franchises because it is different in this way
