Both will be shipped. Xb one sell through could be at 5 million but with vgc overtracking USA. I don't see that as likely.

I think next official sony sell through announcement will be 10 million.

Also Harrison needs to go back to school for maths. If a generation typically lasts 5 years then we're approaching 20% through the generation not 5%. And we are past 15% already. At 9 million shipped I think Ps4 is at 10% of its likely LTS. 5% would mean Harrison is expecting Ps4 to do 180 million, that's not happening. When election counts are this much in favour of one candidate the news guys call it with less than 5% of votes counted.

He was paraphrasing analysts. Some analysts believe this will be a long generation, just like last gen. Personally I think it will be a short one since the consoles this gen are weaker compared to competing platforms than they were at the beginning of last gen. If this gen lasts any longer than 5 years, smartphone and tablet games will have better graphics, unless Microsoft/Sony can get cloud enhanced rendering up and running effectively in the next few years.

You've read analysts who say this will be a 10 generation? No credible analysts I'll bet. The last gen was really starting to feel stale and only 360 managed to reach 8 full years. And. If nothing else developers will not stand for 10 full years without another console with how piss week the PS4bone will be compared to PC power after only 5 years.

No the only analysts Harrison can quote with a 10 year prediction are the pollyanna-lysts. 

Do you really think we are in for a full 10 year generation? I don't and so I judge Phil "quoting" unnamed analyst's disingenuous and anti-FUD.

Both shipped. PS4 has more demand, so it needs more supply.

800k supply PS4

Hopefully both undertracked.

Honestly you are estimating too much. It has been 8 months for PS4 and XB1 so 10% would be 80 months which is 6 years and 8 months. Seems about right.

 

5% of course is exaggeration or overestimation.

I have heard that 5 million Xbox One's sold number before and that was shipped units reported by MS. That 9 million PS4 number is new to me. If that article is the only source then its probably not true.
