But I don't like the artwork... And it's not a generation ahead of Jurassic Park or the Balrog from LOTR... So the new gen isn't worth to buy if a movie from 2014 doesn't have much better looking cg than a movie from 1993 *stares at his wonderful Master System*.

The amount of pixels in 600x860, 600x1024, and 720x880 hasn't changed since last gen.

That is true, but the expectations how a next gen console should proceed these pixels has changed.
And if you compare the Wii U with last gen consoles you are effectively count it amongst them and people have been banned for less on this site.

I'm not counting the Wii U amongst last gen consoles. I'm just saying, the days of generations being defined by huge graphical leaps are over. Wii U is more powerful than PS3 and 360, but not massively so. It's more like a PS2 to Wii difference or a PSP to 3DS difference. Those were separate generations as well.
