Think like 5 AAA games per month. They'd have to innovate to stand out much like indies are forced to innovate to stand out in the crowd of mass produced games.

Current AAA games don't have to be innovative because gamers crave them and are happy for anything polished.

What an idiot.  I want steak.  Not a god damned salad(salmon, tuna or some other light meat).  Is that so hard to understand?   Those other meats or salad does not have the same role as steak and it certainly doesn't help if I have an appetite for steak.   

You don't want to eat anything but steak?

It's a pretty common thought process unfortunately and isn't just thrown against Indie titles. Often I hear in the staff chat that there aren't enough JRPGs and it was such a lame generation for them. I then toss out smaller games like the Atelier series to show that there are great games out there if you're willing to step outside of their standard comfort zone and then they'll scoff at the idea of playing a game with below 8 on metacritic. In some ways I can understand the idea of not having all the time in the world and only wanting to play games of a certain quality, but don't complain to me about not having enough games of a specific genre to play if you ignore the great games that already are releasing for that genre.

I'm a vegan

When you ask me about vegan food my answer would not be I don't understand those people.  I would talk with you about vegan options or why there aren't so many vegan options for you to enjoy.

Well I'm all for indies because things like Shovel Knight and No Man's Sky can pop out of it.

But consoles were made from Big budget games for exclusive franchises.

So far Nintendo has a balance for first party and indies, Sony is the indie playground, and Xbox is for other entertainment alongside some first parties.



Consoles: 3DS, Wii U, and Vita soon. Super Paper Mario fan.

Probably because for all that money being poured into projects, it did nothing to increase the size of the audience or increase diversity. What we've ended up with is the exact opposite.

He said last year that AAA games are getting bigger and that the mid sized games cant compete so he favoured AAA plus indies.

Thanks. Besides that, he can't really believe that people are going to be wanting to buy a PS4 for indies. It's mostly a bonus for buyers.
