The fact they are no longer selling the Wii U at a loss means t hat we won't see a price drop till either later next year or the year after. I think the cheapest we will see a Wii U go for is between 249.99-274.99

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

I see a $250 Wii Sports Club bundle coming in time for Black Friday, along with a possible $299 MK8 bundle.

It needs a $70 cut ASAP. The thing just isn't worth the asking price and never was. A Nintendo console can never cost more than $250. Never. Now considering just how close to being dead Wii U is, they need to go lower, at least to $229, so that their product "pretty much" costs half of what the competition costs. I'm sure it'd pick up steam and sell really well this Holiday if they cut the price like that. People don't want more value in a bundle, they want to see a lower price.

It really doesn't though. With the Mario Kart 8 bundle, which costs $330, the Wii U itself only costs $160 dollars. And a refurbished Wii U costs only $200. Either of those options puts the Wii U in the price range you requested.

No. The MK8 bundle still costs $330. Talking about refurbished (or as it really should be called - used) consoles is pointless. These are not new consoles and can't be compared to new consoles from the competitors. I only buy new consoles, so wouldn't pick such a console.

I think you guys are overestimating the MK8 effect on hardware sales. It wasn't really all that impressive. Didn't even push Wii U to the top for a single week and is pretty much already gone by now and Wii U is going to back to it's ca. 40k per week or maybe even lower. The software sold well, but hardware didn't explode, unlike what you are trying to say here. It desperately needs a pricecut. Games as well, of course, a cut alone won't save any console, but without the cut it won't sell well. Nintendo has to go all 3DS on Wii U. 3DS got a $80 cut, Wii U needs at least a $70 one. Nintendo hardware can't be so expensive, cause it's just not worth that much. And without consoles at home, the software won't move as well.

Wii U is a GCN 2 - I called it months before the release!

My Vita to-buy list: The Walking Dead, Persona 4 Golden, Need for Speed: Most Wanted, TearAway, Ys: Memories of Celceta, Muramasa: The Demon Blade, History: Legends of War, FIFA 13, Final Fantasy HD X, X-2, Worms Revolution Extreme, The Amazing Spiderman, Batman: Arkham Origins Blackgate - too many no-gaemz :/

My consoles: PS2 Slim, PS3 Slim 320 GB, PSV 32 GB, Wii, DSi.

Love nintendo but its true that the price is not appealing when you compare it to a ps4. The wii did so well when it came out at half the price of the 360 and less then half of the ps3. I do love nintendo games but if all im playing are very few nintendo games on it then 300 its a bit much. The wii u needs to be at least 250 this holliday with a game.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

Al these $70-$100 price cut posts are ridiculous. Nintendo just stopped making a loss of them, and you expect such a high price drop? I'd go with a $50 price cut sometime in 2015, before then it'll be bundles galore.

I think Nintendo needs a price drop bad.  It's not a "gamers" console that has lower specs then PS4 or XB1.  It has a 32bg hd vs 500gb. PS4 & XB1 are $399 after getting a external 500gb HD for Wii U it's $375. I believe they need a price cut bad.  If you agree how much and when do you think they will.  If you don't think they need a price cut, why not?

I agree the WiiU is very over priced when you put it next to a PS4 for $400 with 500GB storage. I don't think Nintendo cares about that and I don't see them reducing the price any time soon (even though they should).

If they are really smart, they will reduce price and have Smash Bros & Mario Kart bundles this holiday season so console + game for $250 or less. But would even that help them on sales? Who knows...

They won't price cut it till 2015, and i'd say 250$

PSn - greencactaur
Nintendo Switch FC - SW - 5152 - 6393 - 5140 Please feel free to add me :)

Again, one must consider the effects of inflation. If the Wii U were to sold in North America in 2007, it would cost only $10 more than the Wii. Because the dollar has devalued by about 12% since 2007. If we compare to the GC and N64 the price is comparable when considering inflation, and then the SNES/NES the price is significantly less. Overall, since Nintendo is finally making a profit on Wii U's, unless the potential profit from a larger user base from a price drop sooner on game sales exceeds the profit they are now getting on hardware, they will not drop the price.

I will probably glance at the wii u if it has a $100 price drop if not I don't care!

You pointed out what I already pointed out, bub. I said the bundle costs $330. It comes with 2 games, a Wii remote, and a Wii wheel. If you subtract all of these items from $330 (and assuming you can do math), the Wii U console itself costs $160 dollars. How do ya like dem apples? There is literally nothing to argue.

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.
