It's because they are good movies/artists. You shouldn't hate on mainstream stuff, it doesn't make you unique or cool.

Did you seriously describe any of the Transformers movies as "good"? Ouch...

OT: Her voice bothers the hell out of me in both Fancy (which is a song I don't like anyway) and of course in this song. I'm not sorry that I don't like her, but good for you for finding your new summer song.

Yes, Michael Bay is way underrated.

Well hes black comedies are pretty good, I guess, never the less I wouldent call Transformers good movies. I would call them great tech demos, a taste of what can be done in this day and age FX wise, but as movies they fall flat on their faces. DOnt get me wrong, I actually like going out to the movies once in a while, buy myself popcorn & soda, and watch something like Transformers or Pacific Rim, just to blow off some steam after a hard week, but nothing more.

12 Monkeys is a good movie. Blader Runner is a great movie. Psychor is a masterpiece. Transformers is not even close....

Just as you said those movies are perfect to unwind and at the end of the day that's all that matters. If you felt entertained then it's not that bad.

"I've Underestimated the Horse Power from Mario Kart 8, I'll Never Doubt the WiiU's Engine Again"

Well, good for you if it makes you happy.
I couldn't be more unimpressed.

How dare you speak the names "Pacific Rim" and "Transformers" in the same breath!

Pacific Rim is essentially everything Transformers should have been, by taking out/fixing all of the things that make Transformers terrible (the terrible humor and the human interactions) and writing a much better and more interesting plot and a more interesting world/lore (how do you make the transformers world that crappy?). Yes, it is an action flick, but it is everything an action flick should be, partially due to the direction by Guillermo del Toro.

Tough I agree about the part of being a better movie I still consider it by far the worse del Toro movie there is.

But I can forgive every mistake he makes, after Pan's Labyrinth

Worse than Pan's Labyrinth sure, but thats one of the best movies ever. But I'd put it above Blade 2 and Hellboy 1/2 and theres a few other things Directed by him that I haven't seen so I can't judge (and thats not even getting into Production and Writing).

I personally think that Pacific Rim is everything an action flick should be, but there is room for improvement with the sequel (which I am infinitely hyped for)

This is a song for like 10 year old girls.

Quick Review:
-Beat is sleepy time boring. Not sure what vibe this song was trying to run with but it stays in a place that makes never exciting but with a chorus that is too loud for chill time.
-Singing is mediocre at best. She doesn't have a good enough or interesting enough voice to pull of what she is going for in the verse and chorus is well...
-The chorus lyrics are wretched. They seem to be just random cliches thrown together with no rhyme or reason (serious...no rhymes)
-The verse lyrics on the other hand are actually pretty interesting. While this seems to be a pretty simple love song, she uses enough subtlety to keep things interesting and manages to stay away from cheese-y ville. Props.

At the heart of the matter: Musically and vocally it falls pretty much into "average", without really doing much to set it apart or keep it interesting but the lyrics in the verses provide just enough uniqueness to make this song get a solid "Yeah, I mean its better than what I usually hear on the radio" so congrats for that.

So may I ask what you do listen to? I'm sure I could guess, but I would like to know.

A lot of stuff...I tend to dabble in almost every genre except for country (Johnny Cash being the one exception) and pop (which I often find hard to classify as a genre due to it mostly just being whatever is popular in other genres).

Random selection of stuff I listen to:
Queens of the Stone Age, Astronautalis, The Pillows, Art Blakey and the Jazz Messengers, Why?, Infinity Shred, Mos Def, Eyedea and Abilities, Gorillaz, Rush, Slint, Alice in Chains, Tool, Dozer, Deftones, Protest the Hero, Tenacious D, Cage the Elephant, Modest Mouse, POS, The Protomen etc...

Now may I ask out of curiousity what you were expecting?

Well since you listed a pretty exclectic range of music genres of course he was expecting at least one of them to be what he was thinking. But I am sure had you listed Baroque it would have been his guess as well.

Damn, I bit. I was expecting some type of speed metal. I guess its fine if you're a teenage girl or a teenage boy trying to impress a teenage girl.

Speed metal is if you're trying to annoy the landlord by banging on your pots and pans screaming at the top of your lungs. [/notalent]

That's probably the most ignorant thing I have read on here.  Congrats.
