Forums - Nintendo Discussion - My idea for the Thwii

Hi?

Finally a good idea out of you! 7 25.00%

Run for President Dulfite... 8 28.57%

Dulfite you should develop Megamam legends 3 6 21.43%

It would be better if it was called the iWii 7 25.00%

Total:28

Here is what I want for Nintendo's next console:One insanely powerful handheld console with a large touchscreen and buttons that can be folded twice. When not folded, it should be larger than the gamepad. When folded it should be the size of a folded dsxl at most.

The ability to seemlessly stream to tv's.

Insane battery.

The screen/device should be able to display 1080p at be able to run 60 fps.

Here if my favorite part. With one hardware device, they will be able to produce twice as many games as they usually can for one device. Instead of forcing the handheld developers into making only hd better than Wii u games graphically, you should allow any engine from any era ever to work on it. Developers who are used to making handheld games should be allowed to still make thosetypeso of games. The hd people can make their games too. People who want to make 16 bit games can do that too. And they can all release it at their own prices. Want to make a sequel to diddykong racing for Nintendo in glorious 64 bit? You can! You can also release it for $20! Want to make Megaman legends 3 and release it for 10? Ok!

The console would play Wii u games, 3ds games, and be able to play all old schcool type games. It will be able to play all three types. It will be the Thwii for you and me.

But it needs to tell a good story on top of it all.

My idea is to not call it the Thwii.

I do like the home console/handheld console hybrid idea though.

I have to admit that's pretty funny lol. Guess I could be known for worse things than a story obsessed gamer.

I can see that.

It can't be insanely powerful and portable at the same time. People need to quit this idea since it is impossible to beat a device that sucks 200W of power with a handheld that won't be able to grasp nothing close to 10W. From a technical standpoint, you would need 8-10 years of advances to make the 10W device reach the 200W one and at that point it will be largely obsolete.

Portable always means underpowered. That's why high end mobile chipsets are playing catch up with the PS360 7 years later while their successors are already out.

This continues to be a terrible and thankfully unrealistic idea no matter how many different ways it's said.

I hope they still make a home console and a handheld next time around as well but with the same architecture so it will be easier for them to make games for both... just the handheld will have lower performance
