Forums - Gaming Discussion - Xbox 360 could beat PS3 in Folding

Well this is interesting. I don't agree with the authors summation, but its interesting. This also fits with the arguement that the PS3 is not more powerful than the 360 for games, which I do agree with.

"The Geforce 7900 inside the PS3 is no match for Xenos in the Xbox. Even the Sony Cell would probably end beaten by 48 vec4+scalar units hidden inside Xbox's 360 graphics chip. Folding@Home is Stream Computing at its finest, and six/seven/eight SPE units can flourish in the CPU. But when compared to the GPU, the Xbox 360 GPU would probably run in circles around Cell CPU."

Peter Moore is such a douche, we're not seeing results yet? Yeah I'm sure the 360 is gonna cure cancer in a week lol... What a douche that guy.

Thanks to Blacksaber for the sig!

... umm.. no.. it isnt.. thanks. After merging the GPU stats (which the RSX probably isnt an 7900, more likely 7900GTX core on an 8800GTX architecture) and the Cell's overall power the PS3 pulls ahead easily. The Xenon isnt that great of a processor.. its already topped by the QX6700. And the Xenos maybe a stronger video card but it isnt that much stronger then the UNRELEASED RSX specs.

oh superchunk...how could you? how could you refer to that site. It is a joke and has already been caught for half-assed journalism. *sigh*

EDIT: plus moore said it. That guy is an a$$.

Really, I didn't know 'theinquirer' was so bad. I just thought this guys summation was really bad. Hmm. Well I will start ignoring this site.

Ignoring the Inquirer is probably a good idea.

Or check out my new webcomic: http://selfcentent.com/

Of course the 360 is more powerful thats why stanford went to sony..... Stanford has a class on the cell, they understand its more powerful, thats why they got picked and not M$.

more anti PS3 bs from superchunk. If you gonna do nothing but post anti PS3 links, try to post something legit.

You don't read what I write do you... pretty much every day I go to google new and query for Nintendo, Wii, PS3, 360. If anything looks interesting and is not already here I post it. If you notice in this one I said I didn't agree with them, but I found it interesting that someone would make the claim.

I am mearly trying to create discussion by posting topics that seem interesting. If you didn't notice I also posted another news article about Wii's hurting people and giving them 'Wii elbow' as the doctor in the article stated.
