There has been lots of mixed opinions about Sonic Boom going around the internet, mostly negative

From the trailers I think the game looks fine, just doesn't look like a Sonic game to me. In fact, it looks like it plays like a Lego game or ratchet and clank game.

What are your thoughts on Sonic Boom? (game not the show)

I was kinda excited at first because the game looked great, but now it looks like yet another mediocre Sonic spin-off..

When it was first announced it seemed promising. I now have no interest in the game. I think I'd like it as much as I like a lego game. And I don't like lego games.

Alarm bells should have gone off when we heard it wasn't going to be released in Japan. It's just a cash-in game for a tv show with little connection to sonic.

I just don't care about Sonic at this point so its hard to say.

Knuckles did not need a re-design though.

I think Sonic is dead and Sega should put him to rest already.

It's alright, Sonic. You fought against Mario and lost. You fought against time and lost too.

Im far from a Sonic fan, but I was hoping the former guys from Naughty Dog and Insomniac could do something cool with it. It looks fun, but from the previews its not looking good...

I'm very meh about this one. Sonic Team did great with Colors and Generations, and Lost World, while not being well executed, was a step in the right direction. I had some hopes for this game too because it could've been a fresh take on Sonic, but then I saw actual gameplay and I was just like... no. The game just looks like it's going to repeat the same mistakes Unleashed did, and that makes me want to barf.

Seems like whoever is from Naughty Dog on the Big Red Button team must not have been particularly important, because whatever talent they're supposed to have doesn't show through at all.

I have high hopes for the next Sonic game! and then Sega will crush those hopes again.. and again.. and again..

I feel like Sonic is now a zombie. It sure looks like Sonic, but made of rotten flesh, with a useless brain and with its limbs moved forcedly by Sega's strings. In fact, forget about the zombie thing, it's like dragging his corpse around and adding paint over him so the kids don't find out he's dead.
