GTA isn't an FPS.

I know that.  I already implied that by saying that other games that AREN'T GTA sell similar numbers to FPS games.

Not really, nothing sells like GTA on a release-by-release basis. Including FPS games.

I think you're not understanding what I said.  I'm saying that there are other games that sell like FPS games (NOT including games like GTA).  I'm saying there are games that aren't FPS and GTA (or other openworld games) that sell similar numbers to FPS games.  Also, you seem to forget that Pokemon is a thing.

No hard feelings :D

In this day and age, with the Internet, ignorance is a choice! And they're still choosing Ignorance! - Dr. Filthy Frank

Link me where you can buy a 399 dollar PC that will outperform a PS4.

I stopped reading at "poor man's pc."You should take into consideration that most people don't have the money to buy high end PCs.I prefer consoles any day over PC.Why spend all that money buying $2000+ PC when I can get a console and a bunch of games for less?

$2,000?

This guy makes a few mistakes and admits to some shortcomings, but he gets awfully close to building a PS4-equivalent for $400. Which should not surprise anybody, since "$400 gaming PC" is a pretty accurate description of the PS4.

Honestly, even if you spend a couple hundred dollars extra to round out the PC, you will easily be able to make up the difference in Steam sales and online fees.

Money is no reason to choose console over PC at this point. The only compelling reasons I can see are low maintenance, exclusive software, and local multiplayer, and those last two seem to get weaker every generation as development costs increase and publishers keep chasing "the Hollywood experience."

The PC in his article is not even close to as good as a PS4.

Actually, it's pretty much a match for the PS4. Not really sure why he's using a Intel CPU and Mobo, though, I'm quite sure an AMD solution would make price even lower.

Consoles and PC's will exists as long as gaming exist. Not everyone finds it appealing to game with a PC, some people would rather just have a dedicated console to do all of their gaming on. Like I own a Wii U and 3DS I do most of my gaming with those 2 systems, however I do some light gaming on PC.

tbh PC is losing exclusives too. diablo, witcher, portal, xcom and lots of SOE games just to name a few. No-one actually benefits by making their games exclusive to PC which is why as time goes along, it will get fewer and fewer big exclusives. Obviously it will always have more indies though.

And most that stuff is OOS, and youre still missing windows OS which would be required to play a lot of games.

There is no way you can build a PC which matches a console for just as much because there will be more people looking for more profit in the PC market than in the console market. Even if you do find something similar, the games for it are not going to be optimised for as much as they will be for the consoles hardware.
