The PS4 is doing worse weekly than the PS3 did in Japan when it came out. And the PS3 was almost twice as expensive for the best models. And yes, you have to consider the PS3, since it's the console of choice right now for devs in Japan. The PS4 has much less support than the PS3 did when it first came out in Japan, and that's saying a lot.
You can't blame Japan's console decline for this. The blame lies on Sony and not making these "anime games" as launch titles.

Isn't the WiiU doing worse weekly than the Wii when it came out in Japan too? What does that tell you? For me it's pretty obvious: the console market is shrinking there. And the PS3 was 50% more expensive, not almost 100% (as you say).
The PS4 has less Japanese support because: 1 - Its predecessor (PS3) is still on the strong legs period (so devs will take some time to shift to PS4, but they will). 2 - Overall, there is less Japanese support than in 2007. It's not just the Japanese market that is declining, its industry is on the same path too.
As far as I know (or remember), Sony doesn't make "anime games", they are all 3rd party. Sony just needs to be patient.

In Japan, the 60GB premium PS3 had an open price, which stores set themselves. Many were selling for huge markups due to shortages.
Once again, you don't seem to get that the PS4 isn't selling because it has no games with little on the way besides MGSV.
If Sony wanted to do well in Japan, they should have released better launch titles. If "anime games" (your words, not mine) do the best (and yes, they do quite well), maybe Sony should have had two or three ready as launch titles? They do develop "anime games", btw, look at Freedom Wars and Gravity Rush on Vita.
The console industry is dying in Japan because Sony royally screwed up the launch. The PS3 did just fine, the PS4 is not. What sells a console is games, and the PS4 has none.
It's like the Vita situation in the west. Little to no support from Sony and few AAA games on the way means people don't care about it. Same situation but with the PS4 in Japan.
