Forums - PC Discussion - No toddlers or pools in Sims 4: worst Sims base game incoming?

This is disgusting.

So I read this gamrreview article: http://www.gamrreview.com/news/91711/sims-4-to-ship-without-certain-gameplay-features/

The Sims 4 base game is probably going to be the worst base Sims game to date. The words of the producer don't make things any better, basically stating we'll get the same DLC crap that we got for Sims 3, but maybe even worse. Yeah yeah, I guess we all expected it, but still. It doesn't matter if EA is going to include all gameplay elements in the base game or not, toddlers and pools should just be in the base game by now..

that's the price we pay now that the Sims 4 doesn't need an Always Online connection.. We all know that to render and calculate Pools we need an Always Online connection..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

I'm intrigued by that particular combo. What do Sims psychopaths do with pools and toddlers?

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Ugh, I'm so conflicted with this game. I really wanted to like Sims 3 a lot more than I did but the game was so buggy and laggy on my computer that I just couldn't. Even though my computer specs are fine and even after installing a few mods which did stop it crashing. Even on the lowest settings the game would still crash.

I was happy with some of the announcements like going in a more cartoony style and limiting the open world aspects because then I would be able to play the game without all the bugs. But this is a really money grabbing decision. We all know that they intentionally held back those two features for future EP rehashes. I refuse to buy this game until they get this sorted out.

So this is what they have done already:

-No Create-A-Style
-No Colour Wheel
-No Swimming Pools
-No Toddlers age stage
-Loading Screens for Worlds
-Loading Screens Districts
-Loading Screens for individual Lots
-Only 5 Hoods per World
-Only 2 to 5 lots per Hoods
-So only 10 to 25 lots per World
-Only 1 World supplied in Base Game
-Cannot edit the public areas (Parks, etc.)
-Invisible rabbit-holes/vanishing Sims
-Hair isn't as realistic as TS3
-Textures are blurry and lack bump mapping
-Buildings can only have 3 floors (plus a foundation and a roof)
-Clothing can not be bought by Sims, in game CAS or unlockables only
-Trams are decor only (not interactive) [Cars may be too, the steam boats almost certainly are]
-No WooHoo Skill
-Lots of so called new features are already in The Sims 3
Multi-tasking Sims (The Sims 3 can read and relax in bed, watch TV while chatting, chat in groups, etc)
Emotional moods (currently in the form of Moodlets in The Sims 3)

But hey! Maybe I can make my adult sims throw a toddler style tantrum using the new and sophisticated emotion range the sims will now have!

That's the WORST thing they took away so far. NEVER erase an essential function like that in your newer game.. And I didn't even know about all of those world editing problems. This ain't going to be good.

thanks EA

EA is unbelievable. I really don't get why people still buy (and put up with) their crap.

There comes another Sim City level trainwreck.

This is normal and common. I just never buy anything in till Pets or Seasons EXP come out. Usually by then, the stock features from past games are re added in. They always focus on one major area. In this case, create a sim overhaul. But they still didn't add in variable heights. Nice work Maxis. Last game they overhauled the loading system. But this caused a ton of things missing. Like custom texture loading accessories, such as the paint esle. Then leave no time to put in stock functions from the older game. In Sims 3, certain cheat codes where even missing till a few exp pack came out and added them back in. But no toddlers. Does that mean woohoo is compeltly gone, for now?
