Nvidia on purpose coded Watchdogs to perform worse on AMD video cards. They are saying they will do this for any game that they get a deveopment deal for and for that reason I will never buy an Nvidia card. Is this what they have to do to compete with AMD?

Now, let's not start saying things that are false, shall we?

It is Ubisoft who has decided to use some piece of software from Nvidia to code their game knowing that it would cause problems to AMD card users, and instead of finding alternatives they simply said that it was not their problem if they had "the wrong card".

Yes, Nvidia has created the software, and it's a software that does what it does, but it's the developers fault to decide to use it. Blame Ubisoft for the Watchdogs situation, not Nvidia.

No thanks, Nvidia is creating software ( Gameworks ) to cripple AMD Hardware because they cannot compete with AMD Head to Head. Reminds me of EA when they bought the NFL License to keep NFL 2K off the market and now they want to tell 2K to just bring it and thats exactly what 2K was doing back in 2005. Its BS and it does not belong in the gaming industry.

Please tell me you don't honestly think that, please.

If a game built on nvidia's gameworks platform performs better on nvidia cards that's simply down to optimization, theres nothing stopping AMD approaching these companies and offering their own assistance with optimization for AMD cards, and games by and large, gameworks or not are built with both AMD and Nvidia cards tested, what you are doing here is assuming and suggesting that nvidia purposely has game developers use code SPECIFICALLY DESIGNED to gimp AMD based cards, when in actual fact, all theyre doing is providing the game developers with the tools to OPTIMIZE CODE FIOR NVIDIA CARDS, theres nothing malicious in doing this, unless you think providing a solid framework to make the most of your products to a third party is "wrong"

Seriously, all we have here is AMD fanboys raging and donning the tin foil hats to cry conspiracy to make up for the fact that AMD drivers are just trash, I used to know a guy from the PSP modding scene (Skylark), at the time he worked at AMD designing graphics cards, and even he said the hardware was good but the drivers were utterly shit.

I am done talking about this subject. Its a difference between performing better and purposely making something run worse on the competition.

"i done talking about this subject so heres a link to further push my opinion anyway"

Try actually reading, or turn off your selective reading for a while.

"I've heard that before from AMD and it’s a little mysterious to me. We don't and we never have restricted anyone from getting access as part of our agreements. Not with Watch Dogs and not with any other titles," he said. "Our agreements focus on interesting things we're going to do together to improve the experience for all PC gamers and of course for Nvidia customers. We don't have anything in there restricting anyone from accessing source code or binaries. Developers are free to give builds out to whoever they want. It's their product."

Basically put, AMD are crying wolf, AMD fanboys are believing it and grabbing the pitchforks, rather than asking why it took the games release and a performance backlash to speak up about the issue when they could have, at any point in time if their claims were true, publicly said "nvidia arent letting ubisoft give us access to the game to optimize it" insteads they wait till its gone retail and people with AMD cards have spat their dummy to pass the blame over to their competition, how predictable.

Ask yourself this, if ubisoft were denied access to AMD codebases, why do the console versions exist? you know.. since theyre running on AMD gpu's.. unless you're trying to suggest that ubisoft would develop a game that works fine on AMD based consoles then decide "lol lets delibrately break it for the PC" doesnt make any sense and reeks of fanboy tinfoil hats, the logical explanation is that the windows drives for AMD cards sucks, and that is no surprise to anyone who has been in the pc gaming scene long enough to remember ATIs switch from AGP to PCIE.

Not to mention the fact that the game at launch RAN LIKE SHIT ON ANY MACHINE with the settings maxed out, i have 780ti's in SLI and it still chugged maxed out at first,

Someone's still sore that no one wanted to play with them this gen. Lol, just makes it more clear to me that if I ever want a GPU, I will always be going with AMD. Better performance for the price. And they don't seem to talk so much shit, or do such underhanded things to "win."

Wow you're  so misinformed. The entire reason nvidia made these comments was because AMD WAS TALKING SHIT. For christ sakes it's like you people never read.

The average person on the internet doesn't know what he's talking about (at all), yet he's super vocal about everything.

No thanks, this has been discussed everwhere so you belive what you want to belive. Nvidia is getting beat by AMD in every way becuase they are not better. $1000 Titan beat by a $600 R9. Sony and Microsoft choosing AMD over Nvidia because AMD is better. Nvidia having to change their entire pricing model of their cards to compete with AMD.

Always listen to the people.

Titan is intended as an in between for gaming and cuda development, does the R9 beat a 780TI? no. does the R9 295X2, a $1500 (R9 290X sli) card, beat sli 780TI ($1260 setup)? nope.

Always listen to the people you say, yet in the comments of the very article you posted we see:

""Watch Dogs can use 3+ GB of RAM on [next-gen] consoles for graphics,"
Has someone told this fool that even 6GB 780s are stuttering? BTW my 2GB 670 has 0 stutter on Ultra....its your game, FIX IT!
"

Last i checked the 6GB 780 by EVGA was an Nvidia card, and the 2GB 670 was an Nvidia card, and yet theres a vast difference between the performance on both even though the 780 should be much faster?, so, whats your explanation here buddy?

Don't even get my started on the situation with AMD hand-picking cards that ran well when they first released the R9 290X, sending them to reviewers KNOWING FULL WELL that most of the end users would not be able to reach the speeds the reviewers were getting., but for the sake of the argument, lets highlight just how big of a difference between press boards and retail boards there was.

"The craziness, then, is that my R9 290 press board is typically faster than my R9 290X retail card."

And you think a poll on vgchartz with sub 300 votes is a good source of information?

How about we use Steam's hardware survey instead? I'd much rather believe a PC gaming platforms stats than a forum focused towards games consoles, when it comes to pc hardware usage. Have fun trying to claim it's wrong :)

Yet AMD is the company being driven to bankruptcy while nvidia is making money. Also do you use an Intel processor? You AMD enthusiest sure do love cherrypicking

I'm with AMD on this one, screw Nvidia/Intel domination.

Stop just stop! You've used too many facts for them to comprehend!

Nvidia really need to sort their PR out...maybe their prices too while they're at it.

man, nvida made software that does what it should do: get the most out of their products. Do you expect them to make software that gets the most out of something they have nothing to do with? you want them to make drivers for amd aswell? Because amd sure as sh@t aren't making drivers that compete with nvida's, catalyst control center is the worst thing in the universe second only to hilter and his dogs.

nvida must be to blame because they arent supporting amd cards with their drivers and must be intentionally crippling them.
