Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why I don't like Nintendo

As far as Nintendo making "the same games over and over," look at Activision, EA, and Ubisoft and their annualized franchises. If Call of Duty is still selling millions of units like clockwork in 2032, then Activision will keep making it, even though it will have been on the market once a year for over 30 years by that point, and there are really only so many ways you can make a military shooter, especially on an annual basis. Ditto with AssCreed, Battlefield, Madden, and FIFA.

You do realize all those "mediocre" games are higher rated than AAA fighters and racers on other consoles buddy

They're over rated in my opinion, but it does not mean its not a good game. Just mediocre at best.

The problem is that you don't appear to have played them, or at least played them enough to judge them.

This is interesing. How do you come to that conclusion? Don't tell me you say this to anyone that think a game is mediocre.

1. They keep making mediocre games.

I would say you're actually wrong on this.  Mediocre games?  In what way?  Nintendo games are highly polished and have some objective qualities to them.  They are at the least better than "mediocre" on average.  Even if you don't like their games, that doesn't mean they are mediocre.

2. I played Mario games since I was 8 years old.  Fast forward 20 years later,  they're still making Mario games. Princess Peach.. that bitch keep getting kidnapped.

Mario games are still being made because they still sell.  That applies to pretty much any franchise with the ability to continue going on (like Final Fantasy, or Sonic).  Why it's the same story every time, pretty much, has to do with the fact that story is NOT the focus of the games.  It's the platforming.

Also when I say Mario games, that includes games with Mario in it.

And when you include those, then you're flat out wrong.  Paper Mario is much different than 2D Mario Platformers (story is actually kind of important in Paper Mario).  3D Mario Platformers are also different than 2D Mario Platformers in a bunch of ways.  What usually sells, though, are what people are accustomed to.  There are a lot of different Mario games that cover many diffeent genres, and mostly the reason why Mario is put into those titles is to assure better sales.  The fact of the matter is that without their mascot in those titles, they wouldn't sell as much because they wouldn't get as much attention.

3. Yes, they continue to copy their own mediocre games after copies after copies, so many copies.  Pokemon red, blue, ruby, yellow, gold, silver, X, Y, Crystal, green, pearl, emerald, black and white, Black and White 2..(there is more) from 1996 to present. I was happy with just 150 Pokemon.

That is an extreme overgeneralization of what the games are.  They aren't much different than a LOT of games that use the same mechanics in their sequels.  There are a LOT of things different between the generations of pokemon.  Just because you're influenced that strongly by nostalgia doesn't mean the games are mediocre.

4. The series of Supersmash Bro is mediocre just like Mario Kart. The Motor Bike chase in FFVII is better, Power Stone, Chocobo Racing, Marval Vs Capcom, Capcom Vs SNK, Crash team racing is all better.

Better in what way?  They are different games, in different genres even.

5. Zelda, Pokemon, and Mario is over rated. They need to retire already.

They all sell well.  No one in their right mind would stop selling games that sell 5m+ copies each iteration just because they are "old."

6. Let me tell you what Nintendo cares about. They care about their own IPs. They make their system for their IPs. They don't really care about anything else because they know pokemon, zelda, and mario is all they need.

Except your'e wrong.  They do care about their own IP as any company does, but they also make MUCH more than just Pokemon, Zelda, and Mario.

7. When I look at Mario games, kart, smash, pokemon etc. I see nothing new.

Because you don't know anything about them.  You're looking at them through biased lenses.  People who are fans of those series can see what's new.  While some of them have smaller changes than others, they all have new things believe it or not.  Pokemon actually gets quite a big change each generation, but you don't see them because of your strong bias against Nintendo that's probably stemmed from the console wars.

8. If Nintendo is going to make a new RPG game, then I hope they leave Mario out of it. Anything with Mario or Zelda is a turn off.

Nintendo does make RPG games without Mario or Zelda in it, but that also doesn't mean they should have to keep Mario and Zelda out of every title they try to make.  Just because they might have Mario or Zelda characters in it does NOT mean the game is bad.  Disliking a game simply for that reason is immature.

I don't hate Nintendo, I just don't like all the coping, and over rated games they keep printing. Those games show me nothing that compels me to buy it. Its like once I've played one, I've played them all, just like the CoD franchise, and I'm done with that series too.

What Nintendo needs to do is make more new fresh games like Xenoblade Chronicles X. Now this game.. This is a game I want.

discuss..

Mediocre: of only moderate quality; not very good.

I'm assuming you kind of started using that word without knowing what it meant.

That's cool bro, it's your opinion, and it's out there.

But no one really gives a shit. I don't like plenty of games, but that doesn't mean saying: I'm not a huge fan of game X Y and Z is thread worthy.

To each their own.  Your games are overrated.  Just a turd at best.  We can choke in our own shit now that we are both on the same shit level.

I'm just trying to up my post count.

Support what you like and don't support what you don't like.

I think they are mediocre.

People still buy Mario games because what else Nintendo has to offer?

And when you include those, then you're flat out wrong.  Paper Mario is much different than 2D Mario Platformers (story is actually kind of important in Paper Mario).  3D Mario Platformers are also different than 2D Mario Platformers in a bunch of ways.  What usually sells, though, are what people are accustomed to.  There are a lot of different Mario games that cover many diffeent genres, and mostly the reason why Mario is put into those titles is to assure better sales.  The fact of the matter is that without their mascot in those titles, they wouldn't sell as much because they wouldn't get as much attention.

Paper Mario, is still Mario. Same plot, same progression. Its mediocre.

I think it is. Nothing different, just new Pokemons, different plot and same progression.

Better in what way?  They are different games, in different genres even.

They tried something new and moved on.

Just because they sell well doesn't mean they're not mediocre.

I never said they don't care, I said they care about Pokemon, Zelda, and Mario more. Too damn much as a matter of fact.

I know a lot about them. Thats why I don't like them anymore. Too much of the samething gets boring.

I dislike anything with Mario and Zelda in it because they're everywhere. They use them to sell their games. That is weak and lazyness.
