It could be a good excuse for them to swap out presidents without losing face (since they could just say he decided he wasn't in the health needed to handle such affairs).

Still, it won't be the same without him. Good luck, Iwata-san.

My initial reaction was "That sucks, hope he recovers fully", but this was definitely my second reaction.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

If anything he just secured his position for another year. The shareholders aren't going to fire a guy who just got diagnosed with cancer. Would be a total dick move.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!

Glad they caught it early, my prayers go out to Iwata-San and his family. I hope he is back to work soon.

"I think it will be the HDS"-Me in regards to Nintendo's next handheld.

Yes I don't think the Japanese are that cruel. Maybe in corporate America, but Japan is different...I think

I'm saying the shareholders wouldn't, but the board would (with Iwata's own consent, of course), as a way to avoid the question even having to come up. It's a way to leave without any mess.
