Forums - Sales Discussion - HD Gaming vs Wii...My opinion

I am a bit older, in my late 20s.  That means i have disposable income to spend on getting the right set up to play the HD games.  I was reflecting on my gaming set up and how much it cost (over 3000 with TV, receiver, speakers, ps3, controllers, wires, cables and all that stuff)

That made me realise that if you havent at least spent around 1000 dollars on getting and HD tv and an hd gaming system then you can not experience true hd gaming.  And to get the best experience you really need surround sound and that cost a pretty penny too.

So my point is that the main advantage of the 360 and ps3 is graphics (other than the great games they have of course) and if you dont have a boat load of cash to play the games in the enviroment that they excell, the 250 dollar entry into gaming through the wii is a lot easier to come by. Throw in a control scheme that is different and fun to play in groups and bam: wii sales.

That brings me to a question i have been thinking about:  What is your gaming set up? What would be your ideal gaming set up?

My setup is a 45inch 1080p sony hdtv.
A wii
2 ps3s
A 360
Surround Sound speakers.
Cable Box
Tivo
One of my computers is hooked to the tv most of the time
Sorry if I wasn't specific enough.

i got a 40 inch, 1080p HDTV, that I paid about $2000, a 60GB I paid $600 for, 8 PS3 games, and 56 Blu-ray movies, I'm working on the surround sound, looking to spend about 1500 on it.

What is the point behind having 2 ps3's hooked up to one tv?

The extra one is just sitting there. Lol. Until I find  out what I should do with it. Some times I use one to download something while I use the other one to play games. I'm to lazy to bring it to my room. That is a good idea though. Maybe I should bring it to my room.

Currently: 14" TV w/ a wii & a DirecTV reciever
Ideal: Add 38" to the TV

Yes but what is the purpose of even owning two?  Is there a reason or do you just have really crappy spending habits?

Well my friend gave me the one for 100 dollars because it was broken and I got it repaired. It was basically a steal and now I could make a profit off it.

32" HDTV with Wii.
