This doesnt mean very much. The Xbox sold a little over a million in Japan last gen.

Correct it does means nothing.

But it wasn't a little over 1m, it is actually more accurate to say a little under 2m.

1.66m for 360

0.53m for Xbox

The ONE wont beat the 360 in Japan imo... just like the ps4 and wiiU wont get anywhere near their previous iterations.

The PS4 will outsell the PS3 in Japan. Sony just needs to focus on appeasing the Japanese instead of just 100% giving service to the westerners. The Japanese have been shifting to handhelds as they've been upholding the Japanese tradition is quality Japanese made games. This needs to shift to consoles and soon for the sake of the console industry growing in japan over the handhelds.

Turns out they only received like 800 consoles lol.

Current Game Machines: 3DS, Wii U, PC.

Currently Playing: X-Com(PC), Smash Bros(WiiU), Banner Saga(PC), Guild Wars 2(PC), Project X Zone(3DS), Luigis Mansion 2(3DS), DayZ(PC)

You really are the eternal optimist when it comes to PlayStation, aren't you? :)

Awesome, but I'm still skeptical. This is only 1 retailer and they might not have had much stock, and there could be very few retailers even selling the console.

Both very unlikley.

You might not have hope for the Japanese, but I do. There is a rich history and respect for a certain style of gaming that only the DS seems to be delving into these days. Its about time Sony and Nintendo started learning to give back to their nation. Westerners will follow no matter what so that really doesn't completely matter. The Japanese demand a certain type of catering and Microsoft cannot quench that thirst. Only the Japanese can deliver that. This is why I use Nintendo and Sony's names. They know what the issue is, they have just been relying on third parties to fix those problems instead of delving into it themselves for years.

Didn't Microsoft say that they weren't going to ship so many of them for launch? They could just have a limited amount.
