XBO is competing directly with PS4, and for now PS4 better machine, and people will be buying it for all of the multiplats this winter. Only diehard XBO fans will be buying the system, so I don't see a big holiday boost like 360 used to get. I expect half of the 360's potion of that boost to be added to PS4 this holiday.

WiiU is still in Nintendo's alternate universe. Japan will go crazy for it this winter, and I am expecting one more Nintendo direct to remind people about 2015 with updated info. This will push a lot of sales as people get ready for the amazing 2015 Nintendo has planned. Mario Kart, will still be a top 10 selling software during the holidays.

This almost exactly.  I have a WiiU and PS4 now (well waiting for my backordered WiiU refurbished from Nintendo).  Xbox has a competitor that is offering mostly the same titles this Christmas (as far as big sellers like Destiny, GTA HD, COD, AC, BF, and FC) and while power and online games may not be the biggest factors, they can be tie-breakers.  Combine that with more PS4s being in the wild right now, even in the US, and the fact that many games are being advertised on PS4 and have content there and an HD collection and Sunset Overdrive probably won't be enough to make it overpower all those factors combined.  It'll be strong, but I think it'll basically draw even with the cheaper WiiU this holiday especially with Smash

OT: I think both consoles will be close. Seeing by the posts in this thread, it has a high chance of getting bumped in the future lol. I still think Wii U will barely edge out the XB1

I think xbox one is going to lose this console cycle and be in either third or 4th (not sure how steam boxes are going to do). I honestly think the Wii U has increased it's baseline high enough now (a base that will continue to increase, with an unknown height) due to MK8 that nothing will let xbox catch up. And for those people saying that the halo thing in winter is going to make xbox one crush the competition, do you realize how well Nintendo does during Christmas time? I mean seriously, do you REALIZE how many consoles/games they sell then? It's insane to think Nintendo will lose this holiday when Mk8 is going to be consumed by everyone and there mothers from now until well past winter and everyone and their brothers will be getting smash bros (both).
