Basically end of the 4th through mid-way through 5th.
A lot of great classic games. Arcade games were still being put out there. The very beginning of 3D gaming was very exciting. Lots of quality competitors. Awesome variety of game genres too.
I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016
I CANTTTTT believe my eye..... i thought most of the people here would answer 5th - 6th or 7th... because of the amount of sony fans here....

Before online gaming:
Probably PS2 days. I loved Baldur's gate on consoles.
Online gaming:
I will probably never have as much fun playing online games as I did with CoD4 and some Halo 3.
NES because I was a kid then and games amazed me more than they do now. I enjoyed the 8 and 16 bit era the most probably. However, I've enjoyed every generation starting with the Atari 2600.
The 4th generation was the highest point of pure gaming for me. It is the golden age of sorts from that perspective.
