damn you are fast

If I had to look at the "golden age" statement the way I do with comic books I would say the third gen. The first two generations got things going in the right direction, while the third generation really brought it all to the forefront and put it "on the map" as it were. From there things have continued to expand out.

If we are talking "peak" like some use the GA term, then I am not quite sure we are there yet. Though gen 6 or 7 may prove to be it.

6th Gen; Sony domination! And the born of God of War and Ratchet & Clank!

You could say gen 2 but I'd say gen 3. Gaming really became a part of pop culture and so many classic game series began.

Fifth Gen no doubt for me

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

The fourth gen was the golden age of gaming, and don't let anyone tell you otherwise, it's a fact.

PC gaiming before all consoles...ultima rpg 4-7.

Or early RTS games on PC
