What are your machines specs? (specifically GPU as the rest is usually ok)
I am only using the integrated HD4000 of the i5 (mobile version too) and it runs the majority of games up to 2008 and if it's not too "bleeding edge" it runs more recent games. (Mass Effect 2 and Assassin's Creed Brotherhood will run, but not ME3 or ACIII)
The laptop I had before this had an Intel Celeron processor and whatever the integrated graphics was called on that... and it still runs Portal 1&2 and Half-Life 2 episodes (though that was definately pushing it as it had to load areas a lot)

well i'm not really sure, since I know practically nothing about this I'm using this site called "can you run it" that tells you what games you can run, the gpu is the video card right? it says I have AMD Radeon HD 6320 Graphics

Yeah I use that too, but I don't take the main result as the final say (for example it says I can't run the Mass Effects or Assassin's Creed games I have played)
If you let it inspect your machine and look at the video card section it sometimes puts a no entry symbol on it, but this is sometimes just because your video card is not officially supported. Within the video card section it also has subcategories that your card may pass (Video RAM, Pixel Shader version etc) If your card passes all the subcategories the game will probably run. (I did have a problem with the Bioshock demo on my last laptop though... not sure if it was just an issue with the demo or if the game would have done the same but it just didn't start. I haven't tried it on this laptop yet)
If I am understanding the hierarchy green_sky posted correctly then you should just be able to run Mass Effect 1&2... and Assassins Creed, but I am not sure about AC2.
When you read the first part of the video card section it lists some of the minimum cards for Nvidia & AMD/ATI.... if the minimum card is at the same level or below yours on the hierarchy then it should be ok (as green_sky said, your card is on the same level as the Intel HD 3000 so it's easy to find)

The Half-Life 2 episodes and both Portal games though should run just fine, they don't have super high requirements even though Portal 2 released in 2011.
