Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony: Expect fewer AAA Games

He was talking about PSVita...

Hey don't click here ! It's creepy !!

I want a PlayStation All-Stars Sequel ! Come on Sony, stop making too many shooters !

I'll make a better signature when I'll have time to do it...

He was on about the Vita for a starter and First-Party titles. Which ever way they are not doing themselves any favors and it's not wonder why they predict losses throughout 2015 as well

Just want to interject that MS is supporting the 360 becuase its profitable to do so, not because they have to.You are more rational (and exhausting to debate with lol), but this guy has the nerve to say 360 has nothing this year and being out for 9 years isn't anything noteworthy.

lol.. 9-10 years out, but support mainly for 7 years.. dude, it's okay..  talk about rationality.  i've yet to hear anything from you that doesn't somehow stealthly attempt to troll Sony, the PS3 or the Ps4.  fact is.. in the end, and since the beginning, ps gamers will be well supported beyond the 360's longevity because Sony doesn't abandon their gamers.  PS1 to 2 to 3.  What makes you think anything will change?  as for the xbox though, we know what happened to the OG xbox as soon as the 360 came out (very reason I didn't continue to the 360).  and it's eerily similar seeing what's happening to the 360 since the x1.  even with MS's short history, they've already developed that reputation for themselves..

And yes, MS has to support the 360 because they have to.  X1 at the moment isn't picking up enough sales to make it profitable..

What about the Vita then?

From Yoshida:

"The question I was asked was, ‘going forward, [will] the number of first party will be smaller?’, and I said ‘yes, number of projects will be smaller.’ I never said ‘we won’t make any games on PS Vita’."

Man.. I hate it when your girl has to leave my place to come back to you..

That's a bit scary considering how little it's supported already.

So what upcoming first party games are coming to the Vita?

I'm not particularly up to date with the Vita's list of announced games, but Freedom Wars, Gravity Rush 2 and Soul Sacrifice Delta are a few "AAA" handheld titles Sony are currently/have been working on for the Vita. Pretty sure Freedom Wars released in Japan last week (with a surprisingly big opening, almost 200k).

It's not surprising with costs getting higher and higher. Near the end of the PS3 era they were release like 8 major exclusives per year, and most of them ended up failing. Now they're going the Microsoft route of a release a few exclusives per year but giving each one major attention. Indie titles will fill in the gaps between major releases. Seems like a smart strategy to me.

But if Nintendo does it then doomed?

I dont understand

It's not about Sony doing it, this is about the industry as a whole.

Aslong as that means the AAA games being released are of have better quality, then I'm cool with it.

Any of those confirmed for western releases?
