Forums - Gaming Discussion - Will Splatoon be the next N64 Goldeneye ??

If you grew up in the N64 era then you more than likely have fond memories of Goldeneye for N64.  Goldeneye is almost always brought up in N64 discussion referred to one of the greatest games of that generation and very ground breaking.  Will Splatoon be the next Goldeneye???? It seems to be getting alot of attention and people are salavating over it, not to mention the mechanics of it do define a new genre(sorta).   Or perhaps maybe the Wii U is the new N64??? It's definately starting to get the games to back it up.

No way, it will surely flop. Call of Duty for kindergarten.

Well, maybe. The new genre thing doesn't apply to Goldeneye, though.

I sure hope so.
Goldeye is one of my favorite games hell even the wii version kicks ass. if it is anywhere near as good as those ill be happy.

Yes, my reaction to that question.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

The game that put first-person shooters on the map.  For better or for worse.

Goldeneye and Perfect Dark are pretty much my two favourite FPSs of all time.  They don't make 'em like that any more.

ColdFire - The man with no name.

It will surely be amazing and loved by many but i'm not sure it's on the hype level of Goldeneye.

The artstyle will turn away tons of gamers, no matter how good the game is.
