Nope, even at $399 it's still less powerful than the competition at the SAME PRICE! It still has less games to play on it...and will CONTINUE to have less games for it. It will NOT stream to a 2nd TV (or 3rd, 4th or 5th) or let you play away from home with a portable unit. It will NOT support VR in a year or two, either. Why would someone buy an Xbox? Halo. That's about it. And Halo isn't going to swing enough customers over to the Xbox camp to matter. This console is DONE...stick a fork in it already.

I'm an X1 owner, and I bought it for games such as Forza Horizon 2, Halo, Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break, Below, and Titanfall.

Not sure what you mean by it having "less" games on it, but I am satisfied with what they have put out so far.  I will probabally get PS4 whenever more games that I am interested in come out for it such as The Order, & UC4.

It really just comes down to taste, and some people believe it or not are simply interested in more X1 games than PS4 games, so that is why someone would/will get an X1 over a PS4.....

Eventually though, its good to own both that way you don't miss out on anything.

Also, you do realize that to be able to do both of thoes things you have to get a Vita, & PS tv which will set you back an extra $300 on top of the $400 price of a PS4....

A year in the generation is plenty to tell, the xb1 will not take over sales wise, unless Sony disontinue the PS4 altogether.

 - It is weaker than the PS4, people looking f

 - It does not have Nintendo games (nothing like a proper Mario Kard, Zelda or a Metroid game anyway)

 - Arguably better deals were offered for a while before Titanfall was released, the sales barely picked up upon release

 - Most people who have friends who moved on to the "next gen", those friends bought PS4s, they saw it, showed it, talked about it... trash talked the console they did not get (just like XB1 buyers did for the PS4), ultimately these things tend to snowball, the PS4's ball is rolling pretty well and the snow is sticky, so it will only pick up momentup in the next holiday...

Now, does that mean that there will not be a few gems in the xb1 library, no, Sunset Overdrive looks like it will be such a game.. but the PS4 will keep having most of the attention.

Will do as tf did in march. Bump then free fall.
People dreamt to much yet ps4 still won and continued to do so. You have one great product and one not as good. Choice is simple when price is same.

It seems that PS4 is the new PS2.

Except this time the PS4 is actually stronger than it's competition.

The power gap doesn't make up for its lead market time.

You'd have to be really incompetent to screw up a year+ lead on the competition.

The first week of Kinectless won't be predictive of anything. But I predict Kinectless will noticeably increase the global Xb one baseline sales.

If we look at how Xb one was doing in April (55-65K weekly) as a reference I think that will bump to more like 75-80K weekly. And then add ~5K weekly for the September markets (outside of launch and holiday periods) and I think we're looking at 80-85K baseline.

Though I could be wrong and Kinectless might merely be a stop-loss measure and the baseline will simply settle at 60-70K even post the September launch markets, as opposed to what might have happened if Kinect stayed auto-bundled and Xb one came to rest at sub-50k levels even after the September launch markets came on stream.

Anyway I think Kinectless was a necessary move for Xb one survival.

I gurss with X1 we're playing the waiting game. Wait for the cloud, wait for Titanfall, wait for Kinect unbundling...
After this, we'll still play that game: wait for Halo MCC, wait for Quantum Break, wait for Halo 5...

Anyway, nothing will be known until the holiday sales kick in. But if the console enters 2015 on a poor holuday performance, it will be very tough for Halo and Gears to dig it out of the hole. I do hope that they can start gaining ground on PS4 a bit, for competition's sake.

The sensible answer is that we won't know anything after the first week, because nobodyreasonable people don't trusts VGC numbers anymore.

However, we will probably see a surge of people who will believe in VGC numbers again. The only question is of whose alliance they are and that will largely depend on what the numbers will be. Keep an eye on it.

fixed.

Except the whole.. we aren't a YEAR into the generation..We are 7 months in.. we still have 40% of the first YEAR of the generation left.    At least for the X1 and PS4..

We all know X1 won't take over sales... but it still can become a lot more competitive.  The Wii U and X1 both could move into positions where they aren't lagging behind monthly sales of the PS4 by much..  We could easily still have a generation where all the consoles sell within just a 5-10 million of eachother...  You never know.  The PS4 will likely take the global lead this generation. Just by how much we don't know.. also depends on how long this generation is.

Less games means less games!  Math, dude!

As of 6/18/14

Xbox One:  Playable = 43 available to purchase (9 of these are exclusive to Xbox One)

PS4:  Playable = 81 available to purchase (10 of these are exclusive to PS4)

So you have just shy of HALF the number of games on your console.

As to your last point, actually, my brother won a Vita in a contest, so it didn't cost me a dime! :)  In any case, I have the OPTION to add on to my system, you do not.  Simple as that.  Yes, it costs more money, but all things in life do.
