Still got another 2months before it becomes creepy lmao!

I'm 14 and I already feel weird being a Nintendo fan. :P

nice

I think you're being far too self-conscious. I'm only 25, but I still love Nintendo. Maybe not like I used too (I don't find Kirby that interesting anymore), but Zelda, XenoBlade, Mario Kart and Smash Bros all look great. I'm not ashamed to be playing Bravely Default on the subway (but I do try to bring a book around as often as possible).

As for violent video games, do games need to be violent to be good for adults? I bought my PSP (A very adult gaming system) for Gran Turismo and when I don't play GT I play 90's JRPG remakes. Nothing wrong with some GoW every now and then, but nothing wrong with Zelda either.

It's all about perception, if you play Yoshi's Island and feel uncomfortable, then you are weird. If you play Yoshi's Island and feel like the game is amazing, then there is nothing wrong. I see girls 30+ play Mario now and then, why can't you?

Hot damn I have almost 11 more years of being totally normal then!
I'd like to say I'll still enjoy Nintendo and their classics a dozen years from now... but who knows to be honest?? I'll tell you when I get there.
Now I feel young!

I guess I'm weird and scary. 40 years old, just played 4 player splitscreen MK8 with wife and kids, gonna play some Pikmin 3 in a bit and shoot a bunch of nazis in the face tonight on ps4.

Amen brother.  Video games are really just interactive movies.  I noticed that most women hate video games though because you can't PASSIVELY engage in them like you can a movie.

No arm around your lady here... two hands on the controller and come get some.

That being said you found the secret.  Leverage the family (and kids) for MK type games and then play the violent ones when they go to bed. ;)

I turn 30 this year. I grew up on Nintendo and then Sony consoles and more significantly PC. Nintendo and Indie developers are going to be our saving grace for gaming, I think. As others I am sure are feeling, I am getting tired of the ultra-realistic, overly violent, vulgar and sexualized games that are being thrown at us all the time. Just because I do not wish to play a rated M game does not mean I am immature. Why should anyone be labeled weird for enjoying fun? That is what Nintendo is creating - new ways to have fun and I love them to death for it. I threw Indies there because they are the only ones that are willing to buck this trend as well.

When I turn on my Wii U and start up Mario 3D World or Mario Kart or Pikmin or Zelda or Donkey Kong, I always am enjoying myself. I actually laugh or am smiling because of the amount of fun I am having.

Now Bronies and the like, that is weird and really people should be concerned.

But COD is OK, right?

Yep, I am fucking weird. I grew up on Atari 2600 and NES.  Some try to talk shit about Nintendo to my face when I mention that I game only on Nintendo (and PC) but they don't go too far due to my viking stature.  I then insult their console by stating that my PC is better than their console (only if I feel like talking trash back), or I state that they were just a nut stain in their daddy's underwear when I was gaming on the NES (when it is some young fuck trying to act like Nintendo is just for kids).
