Forums - Nintendo Discussion - If You're Over 30 And You Still Love Nintendo, You're Weird

@OP

nicely written but you are missing the point like every journalist. It is not due to entertainment why males lack behind but the nature of males and that is competitiveness.

You would think every Nintendo game is Yoshi's New Island the way some people so adamantly dislike Nintendo games as a category.

Saying you don't like Nintendo games is like saying you don't like books published by Random House. Completely nonsensical.

I'm 20, and my dad and little brother chastised me yesterday for not playing a "shooter" game. I rebuttled that my maturity doesn't depend on the media I consume...

Granted, it didn't help my case that I was racing in a candy course with a pink mushroom girl in a caterpillar car.....

Nintendo has never had respect from the media. It wasn't until the first Playstation came out that the PC developers and media started turning their heads to gaming as a competent media device. Nintendo was always seen as a toy since their offerings were always for kids and family.

nothing weird like that!!! nintendo make fun games... sony and microsoft, always the same crappy first person shooter style game... with better graphic yes... but always boring.. same game different story... it can be fun during 1 weeek. get bored after that

Tell me about it! Little Big Planet Viva Pinata and co are all just such shitty FPS games ;) they didn't even get the first person perspective right for God's sake.

But I do hear ya. Nintendo games just have a charm others struggle to come close to.

Well, there is a hell lot of weird people in this world anyway...

Well I better get into Nintendo games snappy and be finished with them in 5 years. The reason I avoided Nintendo for so many years is because of their kiddy image, now I don't care to much.

I absolutely love this quote. It's seriously relatable to anyone who considers gaming as a hobby.

Anyways, the main thing I take away from the OP is that the author and his friend really need to stop caring so much about mainstream perception. Liking violent games doesn't mean you're a murderer, and liking colorful games doesn't mean you're immature.

Honesly, the weirdest people in this conversation are those who judge complete strangers over something as trivial as what videogames they prefer.

Once weird always weird. You're weird if you still think the Dreamcast 2 will be reality.
