How did we survive the earlier generations?

In gen 6, 60fps was the standard. We didn't have to servive. We prospered. Now 60fps is a "big deal," which is bull shit. If you're not striving to push the medium forward by doing something the generation before it couldn't do, like with No Man's Sky, you don't have the right to make your game run at less than 60fps.

I'd rather have games that work. Like the Destiny Alpha rather than games that don't like Battlefield 4. Granted the difference between 30 and 60 is hella apperent, Melee at half frame vs full 60 is a drastic difference, but so is Sub-HD to Full HD, and consoles aren't being sold on framerate, i.e less people are playing demos then watching trailers, where resolution is more important. Thus, framerate should be sacrificed if the upgrade is to full HD rather than sub HD. Considering the power difference between current gen and their processors, 1080p 60 fps is alot more possible then last gen, its merely an issue of finding the bounds. Less than a year is too early to expect the standard to be defined, depending on the scale that devs want their games to be will determine the resolution and framerate standard. More linear games can easily do 1080p 60 fps more Open games will benefit from higher resolutions.

Parity clause has nothing to do with graphics folks. sheesh

Praise the One.

Yeah, I completely disagree. No point in agruing.

Because it's not on PC..........

This is what Bungie meant when they said they've been able to get the XB1 version running at 1080p, They've dropped the framerates on BOTH versions.

Two words: Parity Clause.

How many times do I have to tell conspiracy people like you, the parity clause has NOTHING to do with AAA games. Or resolution and framerate. They JUST said its because of the last gen versions not being able to hit 60. Plus Bungie has never made a 60fps game.

It doesn't matter if their is a parity clause or not.

The PS4 and XB1 are not and never will be at parity, the descrepancy is in hardware.

Thus any parity between the versions is false, XB1 should always have the worst version of the two. Else they are not working equally on both versions. If they have both versions at 1080p 30 fps and they want to keep both versions at the same framerate, PS4 should be locked.

Developers should also have their own "parity clause" so they don't have to downgrade games for inferior hardware. If Destiny can run 1080p even on Xbone, it should be able to run 60fps on PS4 without any trouble.

If they not going for more framerate in PS4 vers, maybe better graphics. Or they just won't use more power to begin with...

Sad, another game falls victim to this stupid resolution infatuation.

It would be good if people actually knew what the parity clause is instead of making baseless comments.  The parity clause involves CONTENT not graphical or performance features.

Try reading through the thread. I've acknowledged I could be wrong.

I understand where you are coming from but missinformation is still missinformation.  Its a domino effect where others take your statement as true.

Do you people know development doesn't work like that.  Just because the PS4 is the stronger console does not mean its automatically can do 1080P/60 fps.  I am sure if Bungie could get the PS4 to do a steady no dipping smooth 1080P/60fps for the PS4 they would just do it.  If the game cannot be smooth at 60fps then its better to lock it at 30 so the experience is better than a framerate thats all other the place.

As opposed to the infatuation around The CloudDedicated Servers.

I agree though, I would rather have this game be 60 fps on both then 1080p on both. But maintaining parity is Bungie's perogative, plus resolution is more marketable then framerate seeing as framerate is almost impossible to see unless you have a direct feed, while resolution can easily be shown in a highdef photograph.

Strange thing is Destiny is being marketted with PS4, so if Bungie wasn't as concerned with Parity they could go 900p/60FPS XB1 and 1080p/60fps and only show PS4 streams or something.

Perhaps the issue is one of stability.

Considering the polish of the Alpha, its clear that Bungie is not looking to release a broken game, so a locked framerate at least on the PS4 should work wonders.
