it is not meant to be a big seller, it will sell 3-500k wii us to a small but dedicated fanbase, like hyrule warrior.

it will not reach 1 million. what an excellent business decision.

Yeah sub-1million I think. But it's a hardcore game on what's perceived as a soft core console. So it's not there to sell millions it's there to give Wii U street cred. But the question is will it give Wii U the amount of street cred Nintendo is looking for. They went for.

It's not going to light the world on fire, but Nintendo needs to look at it as an investment ... if they want to only have a 20 million-ish audience forever, then they can keep making the same Mario/Zelda/Pokemon (etc.) games. Which are great, don't get me wrong, but you have to take some risks some times.

nintendo doesn't have just a 20 million audience.

Well the original won't be included with the digital eShop version of Bayonetta 2, so there.

Yeha i just read this on another site. soooo Stupid, Nintendo need to reverse this decision before launch.

I'm glad so many here agree with my prediction

That's how you see that it is not bold enough.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

It is not a question of sales alone (though Wonderful 101-level sales would be a disaster), but also how big was the development budget. If Bayonetta 2 cost a lot more to make than 1, then the sales need to be far greater to cover for the expense.

A hit is determined by profitability, not just number of copies sold.

The install base of WiiU does concern me however. 1 Million copies best case scenario, IMO.

I'm so glad the original Bayonetta comes for free, i never played it for some reason and when Bayonetta 2 comes out i will be able to.

Anyway, the game should do similarly to the original

Prediction: Switch will sell better than Wii U Lifetime Sales by Jan 1st 2018

Bayonetta 2 won't get anywhere near 2 million and will probably end up losing money. While Nintendo didn't know that the Wii U would perform so badly, they probably knew going in that Bayonetta 2 likely wouldn't add to their bottom line. My belief is that they were willing to accept that in order to add a game with a more adult aesthetic to their platform. Clearly their own development studios aren't going to change their style so they elected to buy games like Bayonetta 2 and The Devil's Third instead.

Their audience is much bigger than 20 million. The 3DS proves that by its self.
