For those of you who claimed PS4 had better graphics than Xbox One, that simply is not true, at least not anymore!

November 2013:

Ghosts PS4: 1080p

Ghosts Xbox One: 720p

May 2014:

Watchdogs PS4 900p (gap decreasing)

Watchdogs Xbox One 792p

November 2014:

Destiny PS4 1080p? (or perhaps less)

Destiny Xbox One 1080p

As you can see, as Microsoft has released their new dev kits there is essentially no difference between Xbox One and PS4 graphics. At this rate it would seem that Xbox One has the possibility to eclipse PS4 in the graphics department

Why do people do this? First off Team Xbox isn't the only dev working on improving their APIs for better performance. Sony will undoubtedly be working to allow devs to squeeze more power out of their console as well. It is good news for XB1 owners that MS has update theirs and (this is probably the most impactful in terms of performance) dropped the Kinect requirements, thereby freeing up precious resources, the XB1 can now claim as close to parity as it can with the PS4 for the time being.

What hasn't changed is the hardware. But who knows maybe Sony isn't working to improve their development tools and they are choosing to let their flagship console languish in developer purgatory, so there is that I suppose.

So much has change in little more than 6 months...

Another 6 and resolution war will be over even if there were difference in resolution. People are carring lesser and lesser.

I dont know about the graphics being better than the PS4 but I had no doubt that the X1 would sooner than later match the PS4 in that department. So the next thing will be Sony fanboys will say " Oh yeah, well my game is at 60fps and your is only at 30!" Na,na,na,na! Even though the human eye can't discern anything more that 24 fps. That is why movies are shot that way. Sigh.....

Me and tons of other people would say otherwise.

That's alright, my pc has been doing 1080p 60+fps for 2 years now, yet I still love playing games on my Nintendo 64.

Shame mine doesn't anymore (except for the games I bought before last year). But I am not not willing at this stage to drop another $1000 to have one that does so.

Not true.  I play fighting games and I have to be able to see and react to attacks with start up frames less than 24 frames.  The human eye can see up to 72 frames per second.  Why the hell would TVs have refreshrates of 60 if we can only see half that?

In fact, 24 frame start-up is easily blockable and considered slow in any fighting game. As long as it's at least 14 frames, it's see-able, but depending on who you ask, it may not be blockable on reaction.

Resolution has nothing to do with graphics.Mario Kart 8 and other WiiU games are 1080p.Destiny looks low res anyway compared to other third party games and it is cross generation. Forza was already in 1080p. X1 graphics are fine, but PS4 is obviously superior. It should not be a big deal though.

Mario Kart is not 1080p most wii games are not even close to 1080p...

I would say about 2% of wii U games are 1080p

sure, XB1 games will keep on improving and PS4 games will stay the same or getting worst...
