Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Giant Robot and Project Guard- Proof Miyamoto needs to retire?

What do you think?

Retire 28 22.76%

I dont get it. He wants to make new and interesting non-standard games and he should retire for it? That sounds really wierd.

I just found footage of the game. I don't know what you're talking about. Any of you. This game looks absolutely amazing, very innovative, very unique, very intelligently designed, and very fun.

Yes, most definitely. This was the final straw.

Heck, showing gameplay concepts during E3 would be punishable by death if I were to decide. Especially coming from this guy who practically invented nothing in his career.

link of the game in action? and i been saying he needs to go. well he could still oversee a game or two at a time. but nintendo needs to cut him lose and not have as much control as he does now over there first party.

also, is this the new ip he was said to be working on?

Well seeing as he anticipates the Star Fox game he is working on to be finished in about a year, the development of said game would probably be disrupted if he was to retire right now...
Considering how many have been going on an on about how much they want a new Star Fox, I would think nobody would want him retiring right now...

Have a nice day...

Apparently Project Guard was an idea they had since the N64 era, but were never able to implement due to tech limitations.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

just saw the games. project robot looks aweful... just aweful. the other one looks like a minigame you would play one and never play it again.

Footage??

You are crazy. Giant Robot looks hysterical, I can't wait to give that a go.

Guard does look pretty boring. I say we wait to see what Star Fox is like. If Miyamoto can go 2 for 3, he's still a hell of a lot better than most game designers.

Actually, if he can go 1 for 3, he's better than most game designers. I guess his last couple of games were Steel Diver and Wii Music. So if only 1 of his new games is good, he'll be 1 for his last 5, batting .200.

Still no worse than most devs.

I am not a big fan of the current state of the industry.

He should take a step back and just do a few things here and there instead of retire. Should definitely let someone else be the top developer guy now though.

That is what he has been doing already. He stopped being a major part in Zelda games before Skyward sword was released.
