Forums - Gaming Discussion - Destiny is cod in space

Unlike in Halo, where it's possible in many situations to absorb some damage and get away, in Destiny there is no escape. Combat resolves itself very quickly. You enter combat, kill or be killed, respawn then go again. It's fast, frenetic and, dare I say it, a little Call of Duty.

Isn't it a MMO? It's more like Planetside than COD.

So you want slow gameplay then?

Yes, CoD really is famous for it's co-op.

I have been watching the youtube videos since 8pm, must admit as a long time halo fan i like the look of this very much. I was dithering but now it's well top of my list of upcoming releases, i may even cancel warlords of draenor and i never imagined i would ever do that.

Proud owner of Ps4/3ds xl/pc/vita/wii u and others.

Gamer till I die

yeah if COD was an RPG with speederbikes and an open world and creative weaponry then sure!

So call of duty is all about loot and powers?

I just watched the 30 min alpha video....the guy was able to throw up the shield when that big walker shot him the second time and survive. The first time he got his butt handed to him.

Thanks jlmurph!

This is what we call cherry picking. Here's another quote from the article:

"It's like Halo." When I visited Bungie in April to play a co-op Strike for the first time, I reported Destiny played like Halo. Well, of course it did. This is a Bungie first-person shooter after all. Now I've played the competitive multiplayer portion of the game - for many Bungie fans the whole point - I'm reporting the same thing. Shooting up Guardians as a Guardians feels like shooting up Spartans as a Spartan. Muscle memory from years spent playing Bungie's Halo games takes over.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
