Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Official Wii Fit thread. Place your blame here

This game might actually not do as well as people planned simply because of how much it costs. The Wii came with Wii Sports, while Wii Fit will probably cost in the $70-90 range. I agree it will be a big success, but the cost barrier may put some people off.

I honestly think Nintendo has gone off the deep end with all their peripherals too:

Nunchuk
Wii Zapper
Wii Wheel
Fitness Board
Classic Controller
(please put any I have missed)

Seriously, we are going to need a Wii Coaster soon too.

We had two bags of grass, seventy-five pellets of mescaline, five sheets of high-powered blotter acid, a salt shaker half full of cocaine, a whole galaxy of multi-colored uppers, downers, screamers, laughers…Also a quart of tequila, a quart of rum, a case of beer, a pint of raw ether and two dozen amyls.  The only thing that really worried me was the ether.  There is nothing in the world more helpless and irresponsible and depraved than a man in the depths of an ether binge. –Raoul Duke

It is hard to shed anything but crocodile tears over White House speechwriter Patrick Buchanan's tragic analysis of the Nixon debacle. "It's like Sisyphus," he said. "We rolled the rock all the way up the mountain...and it rolled right back down on us...."  Neither Sisyphus nor the commander of the Light Brigade nor Pat Buchanan had the time or any real inclination to question what they were doing...a martyr, to the bitter end, to a "flawed" cause and a narrow, atavistic concept of conservative politics that has done more damage to itself and the country in less than six years than its liberal enemies could have done in two or three decades. -Hunter S. Thompson

"I was able to light the candle. I can put it out."
"I was able to light the candle. I can put it out."

"Damn, damn, damn. Why won't that damn candle go out!!"

I don't know.  Perhaps the Wii Wheel won't sell that well, compared to the others.  But the idea of movement tied in with these periherals will help them more than previous generation ones.  And coming out earlier enough in the Wii's lifetime should help as well, if 3rd parties as well as future N. games incorporate them.  Don't forget the Wii lightsaber that you know will be coming out.

What will be needed is a Wii box to put them all in when not playing with that system!

Yep. Already it's been a barrier in Japan. Chalk up another failure due to pricing.

That's what I was thinking. It's such a pity too. So much potential....

My most anticipated game this year, unless Starcraft 2 magically makes 2008.

Yeah. My newfound love of Wii Sports Boxing has reminded me just how incredible this game is going to be. With the exception of the step game (it looks way too slow) just about everything I've seen looks amazing.

By the way, have we seen any videos of how the Wii Fit boxing game works?

www.wiifolder.com/tours.html has video tours going through most of the games in wii fit (spoken in english, but on jap console), boxing being one of them, looks okay, but its just the training aspect rather than the versing aspect of wii sports boxing

OMG hahaha! I LOVE those videos! They're just too awesome! XD

The guy really makes some weird noises too...

Like fkusumot pointed out, it already is a success in Japan regardless of price.

And outside of Japan Wii Fit+bundled hardware is like a third of the price of Wii sport +bundled hardware and look how well that sold
