Good luck playing 1 or 2 online

I play 1 online all the time, it's called Halo Anniversary.  If I want to play 3 and 4, I just play them.    Seriously you guys are freaking out over having Halo 2 redone.  Like I said I think it's a neat thing but as Xbox's BIG holiday title it's pathetic.    Nintendo got trashed last year for Wind Waker HD, and then had SM3DW along with it.    I said the same thing about Nintendo then that I am saying about Microsoft now.  It's lazy and it's going to blow up in their face.  People are not dropping $400 to play old games.

Lol wow, seriously trying really hard to downplay this huh? We're excited because 1+2+3+4+all multiplayers+100 maps+remastered 2 with Halo 4 like cutscenes+1080p 60fps+Halo 5 beta+Halo Movie = $60

To those saying that this will move a ton of consoles too, you really have to look at the history of remakes to see that there is zero chance it makes any huge impact.

Wind Waker - Gamecube 4.6 million / Wii U 1 million

Halo 1 - Xbox 6.4 million / Xbox 360 2.25 million

God of War 1+2 - PS2 8.7 million / PS4 2.3 million.

These remakes time and time again have proven to only sell anywhere from 25 to 40 percent of their original games sales. Even if the Halo Collection exceeds those numbers and does 45 percent of the originals, then we are looking at about 4.8 million in lifetime sales and that is the absolute ceiling. Now you have to take into account all of the other new games that will be released during the holiday season (Super Smash Bros mainly), and Microsoft is just setting themselves up for failure.

No, that would be around 16 million considering the 4 games in one.

Metal Gear Solid 2+3 -  PS2 10 Million /  360 + PS3  500k

Final Fantasy X  + X-2 - PS2 14 Million /  PS3 + Vita   1.5 Million

Ocarina of Time -  N64 7.6 Million / 3DS  3.35 Million

Ocarina of Time is maybe the best selling re-make of any remake ever and it did 3.35 million.     Having a Halo Collection as their BIG Title is one of the biggest mistakes that Microsoft will have ever made, especially considering that they desparately need momentum.    I might pick it up one day when Xbox One actually has some solid games but as a console seller....LMFAO.

Its not their only big title.

Sunset Overdrive and Forza Horizon 2 are both this year as well.

You didn't acknowledge my post at all. You said 45 percent of the originals, wouldn't that mean it has potential to sell 16 million going by your logic?

I'm not trying to downplay anything I am just giving you the truth.   Microsoft is trying to push a colletion of a bunch of old games onto people this holiday season because they have NOTHING else.     I wanted Microsoft to sell me on an Xbox One today.  I really did.   I don't like Sony's 1st party library that much at all, and all Microsoft had to do was show me a couple of really cool games and I was sold, and instead they are trying to sell me on crap I have already given them money for.   I'm just not going to sit here and sugarcoat how disapointing Microsoft was today.

Nothing? So Sunset Overdrive, KI Season 2 and Forza Horizon 2 are nothing?

Four completely remastered AAA games for $60? Definitely a good deal. I wouldn't buy a Xbox One for it, but if you have an Xbox One you'd be fool not to buy it. Unless you dislike Halo. I thought they would of charged that much just for Halo 2 Anniversary alone.

3&4 is just in 1080p resolution. They didn't remaster anything in them. Only Halo 2 is actualy "new". 1st game is just same anniversary edition from X360.

No because they have never stacked like that, that's why I posted the Final Fantasy and Metal Gear Collections.     Yes combined Halo 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 did some huge number but remember that those sales, include selling copies to the same people over and over.  (including myself).     There are not 35 million separate people out there playing Halo for the number to by 45 percent and get to 16 million.    There are more like 10 million Halo players out there, which means at the best I think it can sell 4.5 million, and that is IF it does extremely well.

All I am saying is not having another really big title ready for the holiday season on top of this is going to kill Microsoft.  Absolutely kill them.   Nintendo will have 4 -6 brand spanking new games including Smash Bros.   Sony doesn't have much but they will have LBP3 and all of the 3rd Party games.    Microsoft had the door wide open to really make Sony look bad because Sony is being complacent and just relying on 3rd party titles and hype and they failed big time.

Four games for 60$? If only it weren't tied to a glorified, inferior PC!

LMAO. People are tools. I love Halo and have owned and played every single one a ton but if Microsoft seriously thinks millions of gamers are going to rush out and buy consoles to play the same games they have already played they have another thing coming. As a B-Level title I don't have an issue with it but as their "BIG" holiday title it's just pathetic. I gave Microsoft one last chance this year to sell me on an Xbox One and they failed hard.

Did u get sold on the ps4 lol the last of us, driveclub(maybe as it wasn't at e3), and LBP for 2014 yay.

anyway on topic yes people will buy an x1 for it. This will sell 4 million easy. It's more than a $120 value.

No I think PS4 had a pathetic showing as well.  LBP3?  Whooptie freaking doo.      $120 value?   Seriously I can buy Halo 1, 2, 3, and 4 combined right now for the old consoles for about $40.      I don't even have a huge issue with them doing a collection like this but for it to be your MEGATON is awful.
