Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Was microsofts e3 ruined?

Even without leaks, would have been a 'meh' conference for me personally.

This.

Most of the games on Microsoft's showing were already revealed, and I'm not talking about these so called leaks, which what, the Master Chief Collection is all that was leaked wasn't it? I really wasn't interested in much else either.  Dragon Age Inquisition, Witcher 3, and The Division looked good.

The Platinum Games game looked stupid but has potential, and I've never played Crackdown but heard it was good, so we'll see.  Not interested in them, just they could turn out decent or good.  The only Microsoft exclusive I was interested in was Sunset Overdrive, and then when the new gameplay just turned me off.  If it was Infamous like, take on missions, etc, style gameplay, would have interested me, but the character was flying through the city in like 2.5 seconds and the video was nothing but blowing sh*t up.  I'd rather play through actually content with an objective rather than just causing mayhem.  I already didn't like the art direction they portrayed the game in, and then the gameplay joins that over the top art style, so the game is now a big no.

I'm pretty certain Microsoft is going to place last when it comes to the big three at this years E3 imo.  I watched EA's event afterwards and that was better than Microsoft's.

Nah, those that were going to like it were going to like it regardless. Those that wanted to hate it were going to hate it no matter what was shown.

False.

I wasn't even interested in watching their keynote and here I am - after watching it a 2nd time - thinking that they did a great job.

Glad to be wrong, then. I've learned much, today.  Can't just generalize people, I guess.

Ummm...yes, you could. Considering I personally shop at Disc Replay, so I know their prices, and I even did a run down of the numbers in my response to kinising. You can get those 3 games for $30.

You can get Halo CE Anniversary, Halo 3 + all DLC, and Halo 4 + all DLC for $55, right now. Is a revamp of Halo 2 really worth all this excitement? It's the only thing missing when you crunch the numbers. Nobody cared about the Halo 1 revamp.

edit: and, no I wouldn't consider TLOU PS4 a megaton, considering I still have TLOU on my shelf right now. And I even, sarcastically, asked kinisking that since the PS4 version is basically an uprezzed GOTY version, "is that a megaton?"

lol @ bold. Idk what you want as a response other than thanks for proving me right?

you: LOL i can get that for $30 in my local used shop
me: nu uh
you: yeah i can see! only $55 LOL.

Of course, that $55 doesn't include what most people are excited about, which is the Halo 2 package. But please, do try to shift the goal posts again and let us know what GameReplay or whatever shithole establishment that was charges for a next gen version of Halo 2 that you can actually play online since OG XBL is offline. Go ahead, feel free to reply when you get a quote.

As for LoU, many people here do consider it a megaton. Strangely, I don't remember you in there pooing in their cereal about "lowered standards" or anything. So LoU PS4 isn't a megaton to you. Cool. Me either. Nor is the Halo Collection, though I will buy it day one. But it's entirely understandable why many would claim it to be. Halo 2 MP is that good to some people.

Sorry, but I said you could get those games for $30. You said no. Then after that, you said "and certainly not with unchanged gameplay and updated graphics to Halo 2 and DLC"

I said "yes you can" to the idea of getting Halo CE Anniversary, Halo 3 and Halo 4 for $30, which you can. As in, you can get those physical discs for $30. I worded my statement poorly. But you're too quick to condescension if you really thought I meant "hey, you can get this for $30...for $55".

I then said, you can get all that extra content, within the confines of those 3 games, for $55 total. But let's forget about Disc Replay, I actually showed that you can go to eBay and get those games on the cheap (so no anecdotal "I saw it here for this price, but you don't live here so you'll have to take my word for it"). So no need to take pot shots at a regional business that's just trying to stay competitive. It's not a shithole just because it proves me right that you can get Halo CE, Halo 3 and 4 for cheap. "$30" wasn't an arbitrary number I made up.

Now, with that out of the way, you're saying that real value is Halo 2 being remade. I'm questioning that because there was whole bunch of excitement around Halo CE being remade, but your wallets didn't correspond with that. The goal post was indeed on Halo 2. There was no shifting. That's the only content that you can't get at this very moment. I even said "it's the only thing missing when you crunch the numbers". Since the value of this collection is really just the Halo 2 Anniversary version, I wanna know if that is really worth all the excitement. But go ahead, be snarky in order to feel "right" while completely missing the point.

And lastly, I didn't say anything about "lower standards" regarding this Halo collection, itself. I'm talking about "lowered standards" with regard to what we call "big" or "a megaton". Nobody said that about TLOU remastered, mostly because the game just came out last year. So there was no need to "poo in anyone's cereal" because their expectations were tempered, as they should have been. As opposed to going bonkers over a HD collection. Nobody went nuts over the MGS Collection with HD Peace Walker, remapped to the DS3 controller. But, anyway, here are my comments on TLOU remastered. And some more. Whatever was praised about that game, I shot it down in response. System seller? No. "Revamped" graphics? No. Sell a whole bunch on PS4? No. And the majority of people said that while it may sell some, it's mostly just a gap filler. Nobody was saying "this is HUGE". Nice attempt at a straw man, though. Guess you weren't looking hard enough.

Thats a lot of words with no quote from CDReplay for Halo 2 Anniversary for $5. I dont really care for excuses about poor wording. You were wrong, thats all. And you still dont understand that different people value things differently, it seems. For example the two big megatons today for me were Evolve beta and Crackdown 3. But to each their own. But i wont shit on others for being hyped.

No, I was not wrong because I never claimed it was sold for only $5. You made up a ridiculous demand for this with some false equivalency regarding what I said about getting CE Anniversary, 3, and 4. And since I'm not abiding by it, you're getting all "hurr durr. I sure got you". You're putting words in my mouth and just playing none the wiser to make it seem like you're correct. I said you can get Halo CE Anniversary, Halo 2, and Halo 3 for $30 or less and provided proof. I said you can get those 3 games plus all DLC for $55 and provided proof. I said you can get this RIGHT NOW. Am I wrong? No? Ok then. It was only poor word choice because it, apparently, wasn't obvious to you that when I said "you can get all these games for $30" and "you can get all these games plus DLC for $55" that they weren't meant to somehow mean the same things. Because of your own confusion, I decided to be the bigger man and say that maybe I should have worded it better, instead of arguing semantics (which you want to seem to continue to save face because you jumped the gun trying to insult me).

Anyway, moving on. Because you can get 3/4 of the Halo collection RIGHT NOW, it means that the only thing of value in this collection is the Halo 2 remake. Is the Halo 2 remake really an announcement to go completely bananas over? That's all I ever inquired about. Halo CE got completely remade, but it only sold 2.24M. I only say "only" because that's low for Halo standards, and because of all the excitement that came with its announcement. This isn't "shitting on" people for being hyped. It's a legitimate question, considering the only "new" thing in the collection.....is a remake. Yea, like I said before. Continue being snarky to think you're "right" all the while completely missing the point.

Yikes, another wall of text with no quote from GamePlay. Also, you don't even remember what you said originally. Take that as a hint that it wasn't right in the first place.

"I said you can get Halo CE Anniversary, Halo 2, and Halo 3 for $30 or less and provided proof."

No, you said Halo Ann., Halo 3, and Halo 4. And I said you couldn't, because the games in the collection also have all DLC included. Which you won't be getting for "$30 or less". You then proceded to tell me I was wrong, that you CAN get it all for $30 or less and then provided a total of $55. The only thing that makes it funnier is that it still doesn't include Halo 2 Anniversary, which by your own math must prove there is value in the game since even someone like you who doesn't own a 360 would have to admit the complete Halo 2 including classic MP with revamped next gen graphics has to be at least worth more than five lousy bucks.

And please, post more about how snarky I am, when the only reason I replied was because of you telling others they are "lowering the bar" because they dare get pumped for a collection you can buy in DiscTrade for $30 or less minus the DLC included and minus the most important game in the entire collection. Please.
