Forums - Movies & TV - Edge of Tomorrow has a 90 % on Rottentomatoes.com but still Bombed at the North American Box office. People Hating on him for his Religous beliefs is NOT cool!

I doubt many people even listen to film critics at all to be honest. Marketing does a lot more to get people to do something

TBH, I didn't even know Edge of Tomorrow existed until like yesterday (yeah I know I'm not that clued up but hey ho, I'm a sign of the general public I guess) and I can't breathe for all of this The Fault In Our Stars nonsense. So maybe that has something to do with it.

Also, the poster makes it look rubbish and just like every other middle of the road action film out there (even if this was is actually good). Plus Tom Cruise is boring. So yeah, that's my two cents.

Tom Cruise

or you DIE

two words: tom cruise. fuck that guy, he's fucking crazy.

A shame as it's a very good film all should see, there's been many good sci-fi films recently, it's good to see, maybe Hollywood has gotten over the mythical adventure fetish it's recently had. US audience are weird though too, they probably think "It's set in Europe, why would I want to see that?"

Silly USAians.

Hmm, pie.

Edge of Tomorrow failed because the marketing was pretty shitty until the last couple of weeks. Godzilla, on the other hand, had fantastic marketing and look at how well it opened to.

I haven't watch a Tom Cruise film, since he threatened to stop promoting MI:3, if Viacom (parent of Comedy Central and Paramount Studios) didn't force Comedy Central to yank the airing of the 'Trapped in the Closet', South Park episode, due to it's making fun of Scientology.  And not just the original, oh no, the REPEAT, of the Trapped in the Closet episode.

funny... this friday... i heard over the radio about the tom cruise effect... how a lot of people refuse to see his movies because on how peculiar he is especially with his Scientology.

Domestic box office has more return of investment versus world box office. It has higher percentage for ticket sales versus other countries.

Doesn't even matter, the dude can act. No getting around that.

I thought the movie was going to get bad reviews but I was quite surprised to see that it got 90 on rotten tomatoes. I need to check it out and I love tom cruise lol
