We all know the PS4 is currently doing very well for itself; to be honest despite being 22 I only really got into console forums and console wars at the start of the last generation. To be honest Playstation fans never seemed this annoying when the thing was generally ranking third (ok, I'm a Nintendo fan but lets be honest the PS3 was only really ranking second because the Wii was a wierd thing that exploded in a wierd way and almost only in a wierd way despite having a surprising number of masterpieces on it at the end of its life).

So I'm just wondering, have Sony's fanboys always been this smug and convinced nothing could touch them when they were winning, like back in the PS2 era? I don't think I can take much more of their insistance its gonna end up outselling the Wii-U and Xbone by 3:1 each. It scares me that they're not even trolling. 

Surely this will end well.

During that era I was only like 7ish and I got my GameCube, and all my friends loved the GameCube more than the PS2, and were mad when their moms got them a PS2 over a GameCube. So I really don't know I never met a person who was a "fanboy" back then.

So the only reason Wii sold well was because the moms knew what to get that time?!

The PS fanboys will just tell you they are doing what the MS fanboys did to them last generation.

There is not legit answer to this question.

Before E3 last year I considered the PS community as a bit more mature and laid back . Now its the complete opposite.

Just ignore them

These things go in cycles. It is easy to boast when your favoured company is selling the most consoles.

Having said that I would argue that the reaction of Sony fans is somewhat subdued because of the suffering they experienced during the low point of the PS3 launch. Sony being humbled made Sony a better competitor and I would argue made Sony fans a bit more humble also.
