Well I can see you actually read it, thank you. I didn't say to release another middling console. I said to finally release a standard console done right. The N64 had massive storage bottlenecks that chased away several franchises, and the Gamecube did the same thing while also looking like a kids toy. They need to do this since they cannot afford the gamble of another shot in the dark like the Wii/ Wii U. A well thought out above-average console is something Nintendo hasn't done sice the NES. Forget gimmicks, make something that works!

You said to release a console thats above PS4, yet still cheap, which means that when the PS5 releases, it will be left behind again. However, you did say that they would release another console in 2020 which would compete with the PS5, but that is a HORRIBLY short console life span which would likely piss a lot of people off and also fall victim to the fact that it often takes a few years for games to really utilize a console to its fullest ability. Also, do you honestly expect a middle-gen console to be able to sell 40-60mil in four years? That is ridiculous...
Additionally, you now are putting Nintendo in direct competition with two other consoles, instead of having them working in their own space, which puts them at another disadvantage.
Your strategy just doesn't make very much sense.
(IMO) What Nintendo needs to do is consolidate and expand. Create a hybrid console (handheld/console) for release alongside the PS5 and XBox 2(?) to allow them to focus all of their development resources on one console (obviously this is a very difficult and risky task, so if they decide to go the standard route of having a handheld and a home console, they will need to put their resources even more strongly into expansion). This will go a long way in eliminating huge gaps in software releases. Additionally, they should expand by purchasing more western development studios to work more variety into their lineup. Nintendo doesn't have an easy road ahead of them, but if they start doing what everybody else does, they are no longer the Nintendo that I know and love
