Lol everything gets overblown when Nintendo is concerned. Ninty fans proclaim Nintendo has the best games, best characters, best consoles, etc. Just because you like it best doesn't mean it's the best. For instance, I'm a Knicks fan. I like the Knicks the best. That doesn't make them the best team.

Highly unlikely. It would have to compete with all-time great systems like SNES, PS2, and DS. Could it be the best console of the 8th generation? That's a possibility. But I can't see a situation in which it reaches into the top 5, let alone the number one spot.

Well, it does have some fierce competition:


- Nintendo 64 -

Super Mario 64
The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time/Majora's Mask
Mario Kart 64
Paper Mario
Numerous Rareware titles


- Gamecube -

Super Smash Bros. Melee
F-Zero GX
The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker/Twilight Princess
Metroid Prime 1/2
Luigi's Mansion


Only to name a few from my own experience. In comparison Wii U has maybe two or three games (not including remakes) that are of equal value. Who knows though, lots of games are to be released so I can definitely see this console compete for the title.

PlayStation 2 is definitely the best console of all time.

At the moment no other console comes close.

These few lines alone say a LOT about everything else you are saying and why you would even make a thread like this to begin with. The internet hasn't given nintendo a hard time, nintendo has given nintendo a hard time. And the general consumer is making this clear en masse through their money(or lack of it so to speak). And this much respected business model you speak of, well... I am happy that you are at happy and enjoying your console, thats whats important. And I am sure nintendo is very hapy and satisfisfied with their business model selling consoles to you and all the others like you.... well, all 7M of you so far. 

Don't fret though, being that MK8 is out now and Zelda and Metroid are on the way, the world can finally see how stupid we all have been to ever doubt nintendo. Nintendomination FTW!!!!

Every gen means Nintendo fans waiting for Mario, Metroid, and Zelda and proclaiming them to be the best games ever. While MS and Sony fans get bunches of great games and new IPs. ND moved on from Crash do do bigger and better things. Ninty sticks to the same franchises for nearly 30 years. 2 of them are still great (Mario and Zelda), the other one was never great to begin with.

On Topic:

Not even close if you ask me....not even the best of JUST the Nintendo systems....not even in the top 3 Nintendo systems in my opinion. And to be the greatest of all time it would need more 3rd party support in my opinion as well. Nintendo has always had some great first party games. But to be the greatest of all time you need more than just 1st party titles. But I am glad you are personally loving your Wii U though!

It's not even the best system connected to my TV right now. I have fun with it, though. If I could play four matches of Mario Kart without getting disconnected, it would be a step in the right direction.
