Seriously the only way you're gonna live that down is when you're caught dancing naked in the light of Nintendo. - At that point you'll have a whole other set of problems.

Ask again at the end of it's life. At the moment I find it difficult to imagine that I will prefer it to the Wii DS or 3DS. X may change this and a few more essential purchases.

To have a shot it would have to beat the GB, 3DS, DC, SNES, PS1 and N64 for me, as I think those are the top consoles ever. With the games those systems had (and have in 3DS' case) I don't see any way WiiU will beat that.

I applaude that the WiiU doesn't need to update every ten seconds and I don't have to wait an hour every time I want to play a game like on PS3, but features be damned, it's 100% about the games.

I have all 3 8th gen consoles and I love my Wii U! I've had way more fun with the Wii U so far than with any Xbox One or PS4 game.

Not saying PS4/XBO are bad, I like them both very much. I do feel the Wii U is very underrated though.

Then the whole thread is pointless, if the OP is asking a question that can't be answered anyway.

But I stand by my point, the Wii U is severely lagging in certain departments and I don't think Nintendo games alone can make up for those.
