Bet with Adamblaziken:

I bet that on launch the Nintendo Switch will have no built in in-game voice chat. He bets that it will. The winner gets six months of avatar control over the other user.

The Iphone has physical media?

no, but that is easy enough, as most cell phones have sim slots.

so wrong in many levels, not even the nvidia shield was capable of what the switch is doing, that's why the thing had a streaming service and not physical games. Because the technology was too expensive for the time. Now we have new architectures for graphic chips that allow better visuals on a tablet and less power consumption, as a matter of fact nvidia was going to use that for their new shield, but was cancelled because of the switch. Even the razer edge tablet was a similar product, a tablet with controllers and less power for a $1,000. Also, now is that cards with big storage are less expensive for mass production. So I would say that now is the right moment for the switch.

Wow, what a bump. Though I don't think consoles are dying yet. There will still be a spot for home consoles for a good while now. If they go out, I don't think it would be replaced by tablets.... minus the Switch xD Or just co-exist with them.

Had you read the OP, you would have seen that i didnt think that it was actually viable 2 years go, but in the near future.  Here we are 2 years after the OP and the newest console is really a tablet with gimicky little controllers attached.  two years ago u could get a tablet and buy external controllers easily for it.  the problem back then was the games.

It is near the end of the end....

I was responding to the "nothing new" comment but now I see that you were talking about the controllers and tv connection not about the switch as a concept. my bad, I'm drunk

In short-to-mid-term, no. In long term, it's difficult to predict what's going to happen. I bet things are going to change but I don't know how exactly yet. Right now my bet is on IoT-style development where everything becomes somehow more intertwined.

Does OP live in some kind of fantasy land where the PS4 doesn`t exist or something?

Does Ka-pi live in a world of not reading the two year old OP?

What the op was about was that FUTURE console generations would move towards this.  Nothing about the ps4...

It is near the end of the end....

PS Now, Switch Platform, Windows 10. That's the future of consoles.

Sounds like a pretty neat future.

12/22/2016- Made a bet with Ganoncrotch that the first 6 months of 2017 will be worse than 2016. A poll will be made to determine the winner. Loser has to take a picture of them imitating their profile picture.

If life was a visual novel, this would be the Best Ending.
