I agree, to me, SoS will be a Harvest Moon game without the HM.

I didn't say what I did to denigrate Natsume. I honestly hope Natsume is up to the task of living up to the HM name with their own in-house team. It'd be nice to have two competing farming sims, especially if Lost Valley lives up to Natsume's ambitions in its scope and scale.

The RUMOR I've heard (credibility completely unknown) is that Lost Valley is being directed by the same man who directed the very first game.

Then thats not a good sign of how this game will end up lol...honestly I just hope Natsume doesn't tarnish the Harvest Moon name with this. Heck I still want to see a AWL remake on the Wii U or a direct sequel, but I don't know what the odds of that happening are now.

So Story of Seasons will be the 'true' new Harvest Moon game in the vein of the older ones, minus the name, and Secret Valley will bear the HM name, but will be developed by the guys that before only did the localizations. I get it now.

Um, so that Japanese 'Connect to a New World' HM game is yet another, separate one, then...?

I wonder what will happen to any future Rune Factory games, should they ever see the light of day. Maybe they'll get a name-change, too. Story of Runes. XD

Nah it will remain the same. XSEED published a few Rune Factory titles already. natsume doesn't own the "Rune Factory" IP since that name stayed from Japan. In Japan, Harvest Moon games are technically called "Farm Story" if directly translated
