Forums - Gaming Discussion - What's with all the reveals a week before E3?

Reveal before or during?

reveal before, get that out of the way 12 27.91%

reveal during, save the surprise! 31 72.09%

Total:43

it makes perfect sense for companies to reveal ahead of time. That way it gets more media coverage than when everyone has hundreds of tiles to cover. Not only that but if they show something different at e3 aswell they will still get the other exposure... The best anaæogy i can think of if that if you look back and remember how the mediocre spiderman game got quite a modest interest from the public when it released a month ago was only because there was litterally nothing else coming out that week. Consumers will always look at shit if there is nothing good around, the need for entertainment doesnt stop just because quality content ceases to exist.. I am certain that if AAA development ceased altogether most user would jump on the mobile wagon even though we often make fun of it and consider it abysmal.

Maybe other companies are finally realizing the intelligence of spreading out announcements like Nintendo does. When you announce Fable, Halo, Call of Duty, Killzone, Zelda, Mario 3d, Mario 2d, Paper Mario, Mario Freaking Strikers U, Grand Theft Auto, and Hello Kitty HD all within 16 hours of one another at a E3 conference, people tend to forget about each individual one and don't get to soak it all in.

It's MUCH MUCH better when the games are spread out.

Social media and untrustworthy people.

If I shot you with fifteen bullets, would you be able to truly focus on each individual bullet? If I shot you with just one, however, you'd probably go, "OMFG, this one bullet, this bullet in my spleen, IT HURTS LIKE A HURRICANE BITCH." If I then waited an hour to shoot you with the rest of those fourteen bullets, wouldn't your experience with each one be more special? Well, OK, maybe you wouldn't last for all fourteen bullets but you get my drift.

Why is that TheSting

Possibly there's too many things to announce or they are trying to build up hype around this month.

Dont worry MS still have like 11 3rd party exclusives to anounce acording to rumors, theyll anounce everything from RE 7 to GTA VI all exclusives.

And Sony has at least 10 Megatons from World Wide Studios, all new IPs that will blow ppls mind and Project Beasts, we know all those are facts cause of the rumors and the rumors are never wrong.

Well, that about answers the thread question.  Nothing to see here now.
