Like my rank says, I've been a ghost here. But now my time to return to activity in the gaming community has come. This is an official introduction to myself, what I'm about, and my very rocky past! Please do read this all.
I was "The star of 1up." 1up is now a dead site, but was once full of activity. I say star of 1up because my page views and comments on blogs were huge. I could get over 100 comments on 1 blog, I passed 19,000 views in one month, the official podcasts on the site spoke of me, and I even had a haters club. That is where the problem laid. I was very popular, but mostly in a negative way. I did have followers, but I was more hated than liked. I spoke my mind and held little back. That is how I am in real life too. I like that about myself; I'm real. The problem with that is that my real thoughts angered many.
I started as an anti-Xbox blogger on an xbot dominated site. That automatically made me unpopular. I got a lot of hate mail and comments. The constant hate eventually lead me to bitterness and trollishness. I would eventually start just writing things just to make my haters angry, even if it was not video game related. I became a super troll. I am a master at getting under people's skin and making them angry. Over the course of time, there were many controversies about me. Some were true and some not. I was accused of making many alternate accounts to spread my trolling--which was false--and was banned, brought back, and banned again. I had threats of violence against me. One particular member even found out where I lived and threatened me and my family. We had blog wars against each other and the site would even get involved. It was crazy! That was around 4 years ago.
Since my high trolling days, I have calmed down and matured. I no longer want the "gamemaster" wars or to troll. One thing I have stayed pretty much commited to is my anti Xbox train of thought. It is not about trolling. It is about my true hatred against a brand that I feel has hurt my favorite hobby since the 80's. So please know that what I say against Xbox is not to troll, but to speak my true feelings. I will write about why I hate Xbox so much in future posts.
About me on a more personal level now. I am 41. I have been gaming since the Atari 2600 days. I've been there since the beginning of video games. I have beaten hundreds of games, and I detest cheating. I like hard games and beating them without cheats. That is why I call myself gamemaster. I have owned many gaming consoles: Atari 2600, Sega Master System, Sega Genesis, Super Nintendo, NES, Sega CD, Playstation,Sega Saturn, Gameboy Advance, Sega Dreamcast, Playstation 2, Gamecube, Nintendo DS, PSP, and PS3. I have played a little on PC too, but I prefer consoles.
My favorite types of games are Japanese role-playing games, and fighting games like Final Fantasy and Street Fighter for examples. Secondary likes are racing games, 2D side scrollers, old style 2D space shooters, and action adventure games that require hand to hand combat or swords. I detest FPS like Call of Duty. I also prefer Single player over multi player. I also like some platformers like Sonic the Hedgehog and a very few puzzle games. I prefer old school games over most of the new stuff.
I am a Christian and very spiritual, so you will not catch me playing Grand Theft Auto! (: I don't like cursing, stealing, hating others, lying, etc. I went through a spiritual crisis and gave up gaming for nearly a year. I sold all of my games and just picked back up gaming. As of now I only have a PSP since it was cheap and I already had many digital downloaded games to redownload. All I had to do is buy a used PSP and some memory sticks and boom, instant game collection without PS Plus, lol! That is one good thing about digital games. I plan on getting another PS3 and a PS4 in around a year or two.
Lastly, I am a good hearted person that happens to speak his mind and sound mean sometimes. I do have a temper, but regret most of my anger afterwards. I like pizza, burgers, and junk food over salad, like old school rock, am a hard worker, going back to school in fall, favorite color is green, like winter over summer, and nearly always wear my shades.
